Checked with my OBD11, and found the 'camshaft adjustment, intake bank 1, specified value' and '... actual value' did not match. At idle was asking for 10° but bouncing around 40°.

Took both the cam angle sensors off to check part numbers etc, and found the rear one (which must be inlet) had oil filling the electrical connector. I don't think that would be beneficial to the operation!

I cleaned the oil out, and sure enough, no more issues, but I've ordered a new one anyway, as the seal is allowing oil into the connector - £42 from dealers.

Part number is 06L 109 259A for anyone else.

The sensors are located at the top left of the engine as you look at it, just below the oil fill and dipstick. 3 x T30 screws holding each in.

I've recently been having lumpy, stalling issues within the first 5 mins of driving then it seems to disappear.

I've noticed this oil in the rear sensor so I've given it a quick wipe to see how we go - I feel some braking (DSG) affects the lumpiness when it starts so wonder if I also have a vacuum leak.

How is the ride on them H and R springs mate? I want to lower my car but keep the stock 18s as I dont want to ruine the ride too much having speed bumps all over the place.

In my opinion - A huge improvement, handling is vastly improved without much comfort loss. Some people will say it's become too crashy but they're used to jelly suspension.

It's smoother with my winter 18s than my summer 19s :P

Bizarrely had never seen them before, attended a hospital appointment and there was a white Octavia in the car park with these wheels on!

Would they be too big for the MK1 do you think?

Don't know for the mk1 sorry!!!

See your car a lot on the vRS Facebook groups, @creamvRS, and as someone who's recently picked up a Race Blue Mk3, I certainly know where to come for inspiration! If mine looks half as good as yours does, I'll be happy! :)

QQ - were the mirror covers easy to fit? Do they fit over the top of the originals, or do you take them off?

    Cheers!

    Welcome Paul!

    Thanks for compliment.

Very easy, they're from Superskoda and just a stainless cover cap with 3m tape on - Been on at least 18-24 months and no issues.

Hey mate - The black rims are Skoda Turinis that came on the Skoda Octavia 1.6 Black Edition. 18" x 7.5j et51. Sat on spacers 15mm front, 20mm rear.

How hard was it to paint the outer grille surround? And has the plastidip lasted well? Thanks

It lasted a few months until I just bought the proper part. I'd recommend just buying the proper part too! :)

Loved looking through your thread, some of the nicest mods I’ve seen on an Octavia and no overkill.

    Nice work 👏👏

    Cheers dude!

Can I ask what size wheels you have in here please? IMO the stance on this is spot on!! I’m picking up my 2016 wagon this week and hoping to achieve s a look just like this 👍🏻

Thanks in advance of your reply, and bloody well done on a mint looking car 👊🏻

    Cheers!

Skoda turinis 18*7.5j and on spacers 15mm front and 20mm rear.

It's also on H and R 40mm springs to lower it.
