  1. Let us hope so. This can only be to the consumers benefit.
  2. VAG Skoda registered in Luxembourg so will it be EU law? They have a lot more money than an individual so the chance of winning a case is low. As for Evs the Chinese are not there yet but the recent 27% boost in output on Sodium Ion batteries should help. To counter that, adding Silicon to to Lithium ION batteries is also going to give them a boost. Might not see this for year or so until it is integrated into mass production.
  3. If you order from the manufacturer you will pay RRP. The only way you will get a discount is if people stop ordering and they are stuck with unsaleable stock. It did happen in Australia with Mercedes.
  4. Yes, this is the new sales model. Buy direct so that all the profit goes to the manufacturer. Dealers get paid a pittance and buyers get nothing on the deal.
  5. Thank you. These are presumably cars bought by dealers before Skoda changed the game.
  6. I have just been told by my Skoda deaaler that if I buy a new Enyaq, I will be buying it direct from Skoda. There appears to be no room for negotiation now. Quotes from dealers are all at RRP. When Mercedes and Honda tried this in Australia their sales dropped by 15%. Maybe this would force price reductions time will tell.
  7. When travelling on the A9, South from Aviemore, Monday (27/11/2023) the adaptive cruise control on my, Enyaq, kept slowing the car to 50 mph even though the limit was 60 mph. With maximum re-gen switched on the car slows very quickly which represents a safety hazard to following traffic. This happened frequently which caused me to switch to manual control. This is caused by the HGV 50mph sign which the car camera reads as a 50mph limit. Complained to Transport Scotland who say they are planning to fix the problem by the end of the financial year using their contractor BEAR.
  8. They left out the decimal point. Heat pumps are not efficient at vey low temperatures.
  9. Some people are just lucky I guess. I have one that has lasted that long but it is beginning to make gurgling noises so the end is in sight. The compressor in the car is smaller and some analysts say they suffer from poor design choices. Only time will tell.

  10. A heat pump is a more eficient way of heating than direct electricity. Having a mechanical compressor it is also a potential point of failure. Ask yourself how often the temperature where you want to drive is going to be below 0C where the heat pump would be most effective then decide if the cost is worth it.
  11. Niggles you missed. 1. You can only use half the glove box. Put anything in the left side and the box will not close properly. Due to poor design conversion to right hand drive. 2. The USB ports are at the bottom of the phone charging hole. As soon as you put your hand in to plug in, you obscure the port and can't see it. 3. The charging cable, supplied with the car, is stored under the boot floor. If you pack the boot you can't get it out without unloading. I purchased a bag from Amazon and hag it on one of the hooks problem solved. 4. There is currently no way to put personalised POI information into the Sat Nav. 5. Skoda offer a Power Pass which can be ordered online but when I tried this it would not accept a UK Post Code and as a result the bank would not authorise the transaction. Skoda CIC and Bank fixed this but what a hassle and although the card was sent a fortnight ago it still has not arrived. 6. The Ice scraper is now in the Boot lid. My wife can't reach it. 7. The adaptive cruise control lever is hidden by the steering iin some cases. (Depends on seat hiight and person hight mainly). I agree that you have to be vigilant for some of the Cruise Control foibles when running. Some of them can be turned off if they annoy you. 8. The manual says that for certain things you have to read the digitlal manual. Which has to be downloaded from the Skoda Enyaq web site. 9. My infotainment system has thrown up a few oddities which I am hoping will be fixed by the next update. It appears that other people claim to have not had these. Things like my Binnacle display showing a straight arrow for the next turn but the Nav display showing bear right arrow.
  12. Dashboard Reflection. Yes this occurs on my Loft trim Enyaq as well. Dealer says this occurs on lots of cars and I pointed out it did not happen on my previous three cars. I think it is someting to do with the angle of the windowscreen and the colour of the Dash top. To prove the point I covered the Dash with black cloth and the reflection does not happen. I do have a HUD so that will not work as a long term solution. Incidently the HUD does not work if you wear Polaroid glasses when driving. As you say good car but lots of annoying niggles.
  13. The car manual is better but still contains English language errors. Even UK publishers don't have prrof readers these days judging by the errors I see.
