  1. Actually not true. Please quote your source.
  2. That's interesting. The manual I found was here: https://ownersmanuals.blob.core.windows.net/ownersmanuals/en/Citigo_NF/03-2012/OwnersManual.pdf with the towing section on page 135.
  3. Gearbox is fine - Water pump isn't! VW site needed VIN to access manual but SEAT manual was much more explicit and had full instructions for towing an Auto. Basically ensure it's in neutral, no going more than 50Km and not exceeding 30 MPH. SO looks like I'm OK.
  4. Thanks for your swift reply Warrior. That was my thinking, it's just that the manual states "Vehicles with manual transmission can be towed in with a tow bar or a tow rope or with the front or rear wheels raised" but makes zero mention of auto versions. Ootohere - I can find even less info about towing an ASG vehicle but as I need to get car to location just 5 miles distant I'll probably get away with it. It will be towed flat using tow rope in neutral and fairly slowly.
  5. Can a Citygo with auto (DSG) gearbox be towed? User Manual makes no mention of this.
  6. A very belated update... My Skoda Dealer, having run diagnostics, determined that a new battery was required. Once fitted, the gearbox warning lights went out and have not returned.
  7. My local Skoda main dealer is asking £90 to run diagnostics and then a minimum of 4 hours at £105 /hr for any work. All plus VAT. Some serious thinking to be done.
  8. My thinking also. The pertinent bit is 'depends on what you need to do to change them'. Reminds me of my first car - a Renault 5TS - my local garage had to purchase a special tool to remove one of the spark plugs that was totally inaccessible. I went halves with them on the cost of that tool - doubling the cost of the service!!
  9. So, the error codes that showed up were as follows. If anyone can through any light on what these mean in practical terms or, more especially, what they might mean in cost terms, I'd be delighted to hear. P060B00 - Internal control module processing performance P091000 - Gate select actuator circuit open P092000 - Gear shift forward actuator circuit
  10. Thanks for that. I'll ask the garage what the fault codes were (I know they noted them for future reference) and check with a specialist.
  11. Thanks. Can't amend post though. Query remains as cannot see a post relating to warning light.
  12. The DSG gearbox malfunction warning light appears on our 2012 Citigo on first ignition and gears will not select. Turning ignition off an on again corrects this and car then drives normally. Our independent garage has reset the codes and checked for leaks but problem still occurs. They suggest a DSG oil change MAY fix the problem, else it needs to be seen by a specialist. Is it likely that an oil change will resolve issue? The DSG oil has never been changed. Mileage is 65,000.
