  1. Hi guys, Sadly have to say got rid of my 2 skoda fabia mk1s after they no longer fitted the family and the caravan. So I have not been active in a long time and apologise if this is in the wrong thread but it's related to a 1.2 tdi which I believe is also in the fabia mk2. I have come back to briskoda as a trusted site My mate has a 1.2 tdi seat ibiza (kombi? Idk.. Estate?) Its running like a bag of spanners... I can tell a mile away its not getting enough fuel. but it also may be in limp mode... My vcds cable is too old for this car (2013), I reckon its the low pressure pump or simply filter but it'd be nice to have a propper vcds done to see all the faults rather than my generic scanner. If anyone of you very very kind people is in or around the Cumbernauld area, please let me know, I'm sure my mate would happily square u up with a few quid to save my holepless arse working on the wrong parts on guesswork :D Thanks guys, also appreciate any help or tips u guys have ;)
  2. Just to say top marks to retro. payed him for a delivery and it was sent out asap. Stayed well in touch with any questions. And cheaper than eBay
  3. Anyone taking bets on what he'll end up doing? Cause that's what I'd put my money on. I'd do exactly that lol
  4. Just to let you know mate as it might help you make your mind up. I bought my 1.9tdi with 165000 Miles on the clock and the Speedo stopped working soon after so it hasn't moved from that lol. But I'd say I done about another 10-20k Miles before I bothered changing the timing belt. It was clearly still on its original belt when I did change it looked a hell of allot more worn than yours but still once I had it off and in my hand very few of the teeth have frayed. I personally would leave it. End of the day. Worst comes to worst you could probably get another engine about £200 maybe even less kms
  5. No problems, I won't ask. I just hope it's not related to any pictures on it lol
  6. I don't think your picking this up fully. The machines can still talk to Microsoft. In an enterprise environment you would setup a KMS server on the network and point all the machines to that for activation. The program I'm suggesting sets up a small version of a KMS server local and points activation locally. All windows update error reporting etc at go to Microsoft. Also you can't have an version of office above 2003 installed on a non networked machine. Unless you used Microsoft telephone activation. Which I've only called once years ago and it was a pretty bad service. Not sure if it's improved. And there is no way doing something on one machine can affect another completely non networked machine. If the machines non networked. It's can't "phone home" by any means in the first place. If you don't want to use the program due to fear of third party programs then that's fine but the activation method remains the same on your machine as it would with the program. All windows/office home user products point to Microsofts home user KMS server for activation. All enterprise ones point to that companies locally networked Kms server. All I've suggested is locally hosting a Kms server to activate using a third p program to make life easier. I could talk you through setting up a locally network propose Microsoft Kms server as well but it's a fair wee bit of work.
  7. Hi buddy would you consider posting? Im needing a full rear tailgate or even just the glass. Bit of concrete fell of the building n shattered the rear window. I'm in North Lanarkshire, Scotland Can't find any estates at the local scrappy
  8. Agreed. since your copy of windows was genuine and you have genuinely misplaced the key I can give you a tip, there is a program called KMS Spico which should only be used for testing or for when you have a genuine license you can't get access to (for example the heat has faded my serial on my laptop). before anyone starts, I do not condone using this unless you have a valid license. If Microsoft go bust I'll be out of a job so please buy genuine but if it was genuine and your having issues I see no reason you should buy twice. And do not purchase or use a dodgy serial. ill also add that many AV software will try to remove this software as KMS software, I didn't create the software so can't 100% say its clean but I've read into it and have been using it over 5 years with no issue. ill explain how it works and hence why AV programs pick it up. the program is essentially a small local web host program which mirrors the Microsoft KMS (activation) servers. It then re routes any traffic your computer try's to put to Microsofts KMS server back to your machine and through KMSSpico and activates windows. You'll still get all your Microsoft updates as the update server is different and just checks that windows is activated. (Which it will be through this) if you need anymore technical details of it before deciding let me know I'll explain, if you worry about what traffic it's rerouting it can all be checked in something called the "HOSTS" file (c:\windows\system 32\drivers\etc\hosts. (Open the file with notepad as it has no file extension)) here you'll see the servers it's re routing and where too (it will be rerouting to 127.0.0.1 which is known as the loop back address and therefor means your computer.) any questions or concerns just ask mate I'll try help but end of the day it's up to you.. I trust the program as I'm good with Microsoft and from what I've seen on machines I've used it on, the way it works is safe. There might be something in it well hidden but even at that I would say I would have noticed, I would be absolutely shocked if I had missed something worrying.
  9. Exactly how id put it. I used to deal with Lumias on a corporate level and this was even the way we advised users to set them up... Technically it should work with your 365 account but...win 10 mobile is terrible
  10. Wee Tip regarding anything made by Symantec (norton)... Don't waste your time, all their apps or software use more system resources than what you get in return. Their AV software is terrible for false positives and vice versa. Never used the mobile app but definetly never will. Do you get CCleaner for your phone? That's probably more lightweight and your better off turning off automatic cleans and manually running it when you need to
  11. Just to say guys, majority of you on Briskoda have been a great help to me and working on cars is a hobby of mine more than something I'm an expert in... However. if you have any questions regarding anything AT ALL to do with anything Microsoft Windows drop me a PM as I am qualified (not that qualified means anything, some of the amateurs at PC world are qualified too believe it or not lol ) and as sad and geeky as it sounds a bit of an expert on Most things on these systems, be it installing windows or unable to get a program to work, manual virus removal etc etc, I've come across most of it before (it's the day job lol) if you've got an issue I've not come accross before I'll be more than happy to look into it for you to help my knowledge. same idea for anything Satelite or networking related, I'm basic Cisco qualified (again I know that means nothing). Wouldn't say I'm the worlds best with networking but I do know a good fair bit. And I've got no creditation with satellites but I've setup more than a good few boxes in my time connected to different satellites to be able to help out. feel free to PM me if you have any question about any of the above, or respond here so others can see. Just trying to give something back for all you BriSkodians who have helped me out.
  12. I've got a fabia classic 1.4 I bought of a few boys who drove it to Mongolia and back.. I bought it as a parts cars, it had writing all over it in pen and the inside seats and carpets were covered in dirt... However, I took a dishcloth to the pen writing and it's all came clean off, I just couldn't get the seats clean. Reckon vanish would do the job? I used cheap branded vanishy stuff and it never done much. if it cleans up well I'll be selling the car, it's full service history 1.4 16v Y reg classic hatchback not quite reached 80k yet.
  13. I still have a small bit of plastic I can pull on and slice my fingers apart if I want the seats folded... If you get it done any chance you could give a brief description on how to? i just couldn't figure out how to do it from looking
  14. Find someone with vcds or vcds lite and do a scan. That'll tell you if its separate issues or the same. i had similar issues, the PS pump was gubbed. They have a terrible design, end up getting soaked from the road and corroding, abs light 9/10 of the times probably just a sensor, again vcds will clear this up... I'd offer to do it but I think your probably miles away.. Vcds lite is 100 quid and the cable is only about a tenner, this done the job for me and has been VERY handy
