  1. I followed behind an EQC yesterday and was shocked to how close to the ground whatever was underneath (i assume the battery) was. No chance that would ever go offroad - i suspect even speedbumps would be an issue!

I think 200 mile range per day is fine for me... can't see myself ever doing more than that, and if I do happy to stop for 40mins to recharge. ID4 does look good though, but still waiting for a real review of the UK launch model rather than the MAX version which has adaptive suspension to make the ride comfier.

I was just saying that you can add virtually all of the options to the Enyaq 60 for that money that the ID4 doesn't have. Adaptive suspension, Matrix LED headlights, Electric Boot, 360 cameras 100kw charging (what does the ID4 come with?) etc. All of the online reviews for the ID4 i've found are for the ID4 first edition MAX which we don't seem to be getting in the UK. No idea why we are getting a lower spec, must be brexit

I've been thinking the same. But the id4 first edition doesn't have some of the spec you would add to the skoda to get to the id4 price. Assuming you are talking about the enyaq 60 that is... As for tesla, but worried about build quality and ride quality as both are said to be lacking. Also having to look down at the screen for the speedo just seems odd. Gonna wait and see if the enyaq pricing is simply rrp or whether there are any discounts.

@Masternetwhat is the audio like in your car? I can't see any upgrade options available on the configurator (for Canton), although internet reviews say Canton is available.
  6. Well, I think I've found the cause of this issue and it was a battery problem. Around a week ago now, whilst sitting in the car waiting for my wife a warning came on the dash stating 12v power low, please drive immediately. However when trying to start the engine, it would not start. Ended up having to call out recovery who diagnosed a bad battery and replaced it. For the week since, I've had no re occurrence of the issues on stop/start.
  7. The car is around 1.5yrs old, so that's the age of the battery. It's odd, sometimes I can go weeks without it happening.
  8. It's still happening randomly on my car. Can't seem to tie it down to any specific situation that causes it to happen...
  9. Mine does this too. Strangely hasn't done it for ages, but recently started doing it pretty regularly. Did you identify a cause?
  10. Do these interfere with DAB radio reception, similar to other ones I've had from Aliexpress?
  11. Pressing and holding unlock does lower all the windows... so did you sit on the keyfob?
  12. I regularly get over 80mpg on my daily commute to Liverpool (150tdi). Driving style definitely makes a big difference as on my way to work I drive slowly and carefully and get >80mpg, but on the way home usually rush and generally get low 60's. Journey is 60 miles, mostly motorway. Currently computer is showing 80 miles left in the tank and so far have done 805 miles on this tank full.
  13. Couple of little niggles: Cupholders! Every drink i seem to take in the car is either too big or too small to fit in the fixed size cupholders Why don't they use some simply clever design and use the same type in the Passat that auto adjust size to any size bottle? The positioning of the USB port is terrible, would be better in the arm rest box so that there is more room for a bigger phone. Wish i'd got Xenons just purely for the better looking DRLs. Also because they are not not fitting blind spot mirrors I wish i'd got the blind spot warning assist. Clever of them to do that as I'll now ensure i get this on any new car i buy.
  14. Mines Pacific Blue. Wouldn't have been my choice, but I didn't have a choice I miss the sparkles of metallic or perlescant paint, but it looks fine when clean and shiny.
  15. I moved from the Passat B8 (1.6tdi bus edition) to S3 (2.0tdi bus edition) so can do a reasonable comparison. Build Quality In the 2 years I had the Passat B8 i didn't have a single rattle in the cabin. The engine however was a diff story with a bad vibration at 2k rpm which the dealers could not fix. Had the S3 around 7 months now and so far no rattles anywhere. Totally subjective view, but I preferred the interior of the Passat as it looks classier. However I've grown to like the interior of the S3 too, apart from the shiny black fingerprint magnet trim. Ride/Handling. I think the Passat was slightly more comfortable over rough roads and also didn't seem to roll as much as the S3. There isn't much in it though and I can't really say the S3 is uncomfortable, just maybe not quite as composed as the Passat. Spec S3 wins out here as my Passat was more expensive for less kit. However that was 2 years ago and I know the equivalent business spec passat now comes with LED headlights as standard etc, so the spec must have changed. Passat is still quite a bit more expensive than S3 though... If I was buying either now it would totally depend on cost. I liked both cars, and if they were equally priced/specced would probably go for the Passat. However they aren't, so I'd buy an S3
  16. I had a 2015 1.6 passat before moving to the 2.0 superb. The 1.6 is actually fine for most things and to be honest due to the poor throttle response in the superb, unless you really press on there isn't a huge difference. However in my case the 1.6 had a horrible rattle at 2000 rpm and when in 6th on the motorway I found myself needing to downshift to overtake a lot of the time. Which is why i chose to move to the 2.0 in the superb. In terms of motorway mpg (driving like miss daisy!) I did manage to regularly do over 70mpg in the 1.6 and on the same journey in the 2.0 superb can also do over 70mpg occasionally, although more often its high 60's. This is a 120 mile round trip to work every day, covering mostly motorway miles, so a reasonable comparison. I guess its going to depend how you like to drive the car. I use mine for mostly commuting to work, so drive at very low rpm at steady speeds on the motorway to maximise mpg. Driving like this I don't notice the difference all that much (other than not needing to downshift out of 6th as much).
  17. Have you had AA working at any point? My guess is the screen goes black as it hands over to your phone to display the AA output. Is there anything displaying on your phone perhaps, such as messages to accept various terms and conditions etc?
  18. try enabling usb debugging via developer options. I found i needed to do this after a recent google security update.
  19. Yeah I can only say they fitted on mine! One thing I have noticed though is that they interfere with DAB radio reception. If I'm in a weak reception area, every time I indicate, the radio goes off for a few seconds!!
  20. I changed mine last weekend and although its a pain, its not all that difficult. To be honest not sure it was worth the effort... Remove wheel, undo around 10 screws holding the front part of wheel arch liner in place and pull it back so you can reach in to the headlight. Use a sharp knife to cut into the plastic on the back of the drl holder and then you can break away the rest of the cover with your fingers. Remove and replace DRL then buy 2x rubber covers for indicators which fit perfectly over the drl back.
  21. Its not a cover as such - the back is actually moulded closed.
  22. Heres a pic of the headlight sticker. Upon looking again, am wondering if i could get a dremel tool in behind the DRL to cut the plastic cover and then reach in by hand. its tight, but may just work...
  23. My MY18 car looks to have halogen DRLs. Want to change them to LED, but really don't fancy taking the wheel arch liner off.
  24. I've got waze installed, but it is missing a feature that I keep going back to maps for... Which is that on the homepage of maps it shows you a list of recent destinations and the time it will take to drive there (green for clear, orange for slow and red for issue). With waze you have to start navigation to know whether there is an issue on your route. With maps, its right there when you switch on. If waze added that, I'd probably switch.
