Yes I found them when looking for the nets. I was hoping I had the one that goes under the parcel shelf. I put the dividers back.

Mine has them and is an SE L Executive. I wonder if they all have these - they're only cheap after all.

My Sportline has them... quite useful!

I never put my foot on the brake, I use hand controls.

I have tried pressing the starter and waiting and it makes no difference, the lights fail to level on a very regular basis and restarting the vehicle several times is the only way to get it sorted.

Sounds like you have a fault then as the workaround works 100% of the time for me.

The reason son they fail to level is the power drain of the engine cranking... pressing the ignition without the break means the engine won’t start.

You do know that a usb dongle expects 5v?  Please don't take the post as "being clever" I was concerned that there was no mention of any "12v to 5v electronics"

Thanks Peter - I hadnt taken this in to consideration... I guess the best solution is to use a cigarette lighter socket and use a USB converter which must have the necessary electronics inside?

  4. I was wondering if anyone had used one of these piggyback fuse holders to create another USB socket?  I need this for power only but to be live with ignition.  I have seen a number of posts regarding dashcam installs but I am looking for a USB socket.

Basically, it is to plug in a wifi dongle which has a USB port and I dont want it draining the battery whilst the car is not in use.

    Hoping someone can help :)

    Cheers!

I got a software update in December which seems to have resolved the issue. A new update was applied when I had the car serviced last week. As I have said before, Skoda are aware of the issue, but the dealerships may not be.

I got a software update on the xenons too but it hasn’t fixed it for me...

Any luck Pidge? I pressed my i button today and spoke to Skoda to register the problem with them. The girl said she'd spoken to a few other people but that at the moment I should just contact my dealer. I thought I'd wait and see if you had any luck. I can manage it for now by turning on the ignition and waiting before starting the engine with my foot on the brake. Cheers.

No luck I’m afraid - still same issue although haven’t got back to dealer yet... I want them to have a guaranteed solution before booking it in and wasting any more time! I’m like you and just using the workaround for now...

A similar question was asked a long time ago so I tried it. It won’t work.

An unpowered hub will only support, recognise and power one connected device, so it’s pretty pointless using an unpowered hub as it behaves solely as a single-device pass-through.

I’m not aware of any 12v powered USB hubs and I doubt the USB in the car would recognise more than one attached device and in any event you’d need to wire such a hub into an ignition switched 12v source to achieve what you want.

    Ah well, thanks anyway :)

  8. I think the main issue is the engine preheating due to the cold weather... On a warmer day, the engine starts more quickly and usually before the headlights do their leveling dance...

Last night, when I pressed the ignition without the break pedal, they level correctly and then I started the engine - this seems to be a workaround (when I remember)

I am not even sure if its worth the time of taking it to the dealers on Friday now as it seems to be an issue on a larger scale.  Maybe a letter to Skoda UK?

  9. Thanks Bridge - what is the best workaround for the issue you have found? I haven’t tested yet but was thinking ignition without break pedal to level lights and then start engine?

Hope it doesn’t take more than one visit to the dealers to sort :-/ I will mention this software update to them!

  10. Good morning - Has anyone else had issues with the Xenons on the Superb?  In particular I am talking about self levelling...  When I start my Sportline, the engine preheats and the Xenons do there start up jig but then the engine cranks and disturbs the jig and they stay pointing at the ground... I have it booked in at the dealer on Friday but I fear they wont pick up on the issue.  I guess if no one else has the same problem then maybe there is a fault?
