Thanks for the advice on this everyone. Good to know it’s normal for these type of headlights. Loving the Mark 3 btw having upgraded from our Mark 2 at the weekend.

Condensation in headlights
Hi Everyone Recently purchased a 2019 1.5 tsi SE L Executive Estate and have some condensation in both front headlights. Is this a normal? Is there anything I can do to reduce it? Thanks

To XL or not to XL
Thanks for the info on this .... amazing what you learn. So I thought there were 2 versions of a tyre available - e.g. .... 225/45 94Y or 224/45 94Y XL but I think from the discussion that all 225/45 94Y are XLs

To XL or not to XL
Hi @Paws4Thot, thanks for the question. the current tyres are Ventus v 12 evo XL 225/45 17 …. but what I’m trying to find out is whether it’s ok in general to buy non XL tyres for the 2011 1.8 tsi estate. thanks.

To XL or not to XL
Hi all Having recently hit a couple of (hidden) pot holes I now need 2 new tyres. All 4 are currently XL tyres and was thinking of replacing all 4 with non XL tyres to soften the ride. Does anyone know if XLs were fitted as standard at the factory and is it ok to run non XL tyres? car is a 2011 1.8 tsi estate. thanks

Can I soften ride after fitting new tyres
Just an update on the issue ….. So we’re a month down the line and a good 1500 miles on the new tyres. Subjectively, they may have softened a bit but still think the ride is harder than before but not enough to warrant either new tyres again or different size wheels. A final query for @chimaera - where did the info on the tyre pressures come from? The fuel filler cap on the car has 32 psi all round. Also, does anyone know what was fitted to the 2011 1.8tsi estate at the factory?

Can I soften ride after fitting new tyres
Thanks @Carlston, this is great information. The thing I’m a bit confused about is that the fronts are exactly the same as what was fitted before and the backs (although a different make) were also 94Y. I guess I wasn’t expecting such a change when the rears are the same spec but a different manufacturer.

Can I soften ride after fitting new tyres
Thanks @Carlston pressure is 32 psi which I think is right? Tyres are the top ones (94y)

Can I soften ride after fitting new tyres
Hi everyone I recently had 4 new tyres fitted and the ride is now much harder than before. Previously I had hankook on the front and kumho on the rear and had them all replaced with Hankook (exactly same spec as existing fronts) Anyone have any ideas on softening the ride as it’s definitely less compliant than before. thanks for info the hankooks are Ventus v 12 evo

1.8TSI and 2.0TSI engine failures
Hi @Pacific_Blue just wondering if you managed to get any where with sorting out your superb?
-
1.8TSI and 2.0TSI engine failures
Looks like you’re still within the original 12 month warranty period, which is good news. I hope the solicitor can help with an approach to sort this out for you. Keep posting updates and let us know how you’re getting on.

1.8TSI and 2.0TSI engine failures
I’d definitely go back to the dealer again. The repair shouldn’t fail so soon after it was carried out. Did the repair come with a six month or twelve month warranty? (Other thread mentions 12)

1.8TSI and 2.0TSI engine failures
Hi @Pacific_Blue . Sorry to hear that the repairs have not worked out. On the other thread you explained the dealer would also be replacing the chain and tensioner. Did that not happen?

New (to us) Superb - fixing niggles
That’s more like it in terms of repair. Make sure it’s all documented and in the warranty and you’re back on track 🙂

New (to us) Superb - fixing niggles
Have to agree with bigjohn and go for a refund. Just replacing the piston rings doesn’t cure the whole issue. We ended up with a complete replacement engine, thankfully covered by a skoda dealer warranty. Skoda Superb is a great car ..... just not with the tsi engine.

Skoda Superb Elegance TSI 1.8 2010 Oil Usage!!!!!

Skoda Bolero
My 2011 Bolero unit that came with a Superb SE did not have the Bluetooth module with it. I got it installed at a car audio shop as a retro fit. Have a check if the Bluetooth unit is actually there

engine out
It's a 1.8 tsi model and suffered increasing oil consumption to the point it felt like I was putting as much oil in as petrol!😀 Thankfully had an extended Skoda warranty on it and engine was replaced in Jan 2019. Dealer was really good and no issues since. The pictures are from when they asked me if I wanted to see it before they put the new engine in - was gob smacked when I saw it!

engine out
Had my engine replaced under warranty and saw it while they were doing the work and they did remove the front of the car
