  1. I just pulled the old one out, shoved the new one in and Bob's ya Uncle
  2. No worries mate... Just to give you a idea the decontamination alone would take 3-4 hrs and (please bear in mind I am not a pro) it took me 3hrs to 90% correct my bonnet so imagine that over the whole car when you are taking depth readings etc. Ironically the coating part doesn't take that long at all and alot of guys use ir lamps to accelerate the process but still you need to keep it inside for 24hrs. Done properly you will have no problems with water spotting.
  3. Right.... If a company is offering proper correction and coating in 1 day then I would walk away tbh. Most of the guys I know would have the car for at least 3 days obviously depending on the condition of the paint. Any decent coating itself needs to be cured in controlled conditions for 24hrs.
  4. I brought some primer, Black Magic paint and some 2k Laquer which I was assured would be up to the job for the exhaust tips, they came up really well and are still looking good. Whilst I had the paint out I rubbed down the front VRS badge, primed it, painted it and laquered it I am saving up for either springs or diffuser, not sure which is going to be 1st yet...
  5. Have a look here @Damo:http://www.theskodashop.co.uk/product/Grille_Surround_-_Black_5E0853761AF9R Has gone up a little though
  6. Just had a good read, lovely looking car mate well done on the mods. I have been doing similar things with mine, just currently working through the Lowering springs or Reiger rear diffuser debate at the moment
  7. Yes it is possible to remove the trim around the grille and you are right I think the black trim looks alot better than the chrome version. A replacement one is about £45. Is it easy to do?... Well yes and no, it takes a bit of bravery and some swearing but in effect you need to break the old chrome one to remove it. Fitting the new black one is a 2 minute job
  8. Quick question before I bite the bullet has anyone fitted these to a vrs tdi?
  9. Just had mine done at the local service center and was a bit shocked to say the least... £159 for the service I was happy with to maintain the service record. £99 for a brake fluid change and air con service, yet again I was happy with this. The guy then said I need to have my pollen and fuel filter replaced, the fuel filter was £74 and the pollen filter was nearly £50, both of which I declined and brought both filters for less than £30 from ECP then took all of 5mins installing them myself
  10. Very nice indeed, those wheels really set it off
  11. None at all, its a really nice positive close towards the end, if anything it could do with a touch more damping.
  12. If its any help.... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F382005597392
