  1. My first vrs used lots of oil, the second one barely used any at all. @Roottoot how dare you accuse a dealer of lying hahahahahahaha both were brilliant cars but the later facelift model was far better in every way. The dsg suited it really and the engine did seem to be a bit stronger, maybe the first car was just a bit of a lemon? I've got rid of the skoda now and gone to a BMW 530e so not drinking from the black pump anymore!
  2. My VRS went to arnold clarke as a trade in last friday. 2018, velvet red, tdi dsg, canton, black pack plus, TSR, 3 keys. it was on 73k They gave us 10k for it!!!!!! Whoever gets that car will get a bargain! The miles have all been done on the motorway, just put 4 new tyres on it and serviced it during lockdown. And it was remapped by apex performance nottigham at the same time. If anyone comes across it, dont be put off by the mileage!
  3. Hi all, As the title suggests, it's time for a change. I have decided to change the Octavia VRS as it now has 73k on the clock. It's been a brilliant motor with absolutely no issues. I'm swapping it for a BMW 530e, the company car tax benefits are too good to ignore, the way the car drives is amazing and I think it looks pretty good too. This really is the best forum out there and I will still lurk about as the wife still has a fabia. I think i will be back in a skoda in a couple of years, i really wanted the new VRS hybrid but cant wait and i suspect they will be a bit expensive when they first come out.
  4. My first vrs diesel used a lot of oil, about a 1l every 1200 miles. My latest one does not use any where near the same amount, probably 1L every 5k. Same driver, same driving style but my new one is a DSG. I mentioned it to skoda when I first had high consumption and they said it was normal for this engine to use so much oil!!
  5. Or on the days you think it's doing what it should the car is running as normal and other times the box is hindering the performance maybe? After watching that video I wouldnt touch a box nor would I recommend anyone else to. My bro has a giulietta 2.0 tdi 150bhp and was looking at the blue fin box but they have gone into liquidation now!
  6. Great video, glad I never went for a tuning box.......
  7. There isnt a weigh bridge near me that I know of and I'm not sure if the scrap yards are open. The interweb says the car is 1395kg from factory, I allow 100kg for myself, 100kg for my passenger, 60kg for fuel and fluids and 20kg for the stuff in the boot, the spare wheel and the car seats. Putting this into the torque app seems pretty accurate (it's only for bhp and torque readings! Yes, I'm a big child) I'll post a screenshot of the readings from the app
  8. Yeah and add weight for fuel, passengers, stuff in car, fluids.
  9. Tow?! Oh no, I'm trying to accurately set up the Torque app hahahahahaa
  10. Does anyone have any idea of the weight of thier car? I'm trying to work out the weight of my 18 plate vrs dsg tdi hatch. Any ideas? Other than Google saying 1395kg
