  1. Dealer advised this week that Skoda have accepted the order. I think 29th February was the last date for orders prior to FL.
  2. Not that keen on the way the new front looks, with no fog lights it seems a bit bulky. Fog lights are now integrated into the new matrix headlights. Also there are apparently updates to (or completely new) software. After the problems the last time VW introduced new software, I would rather not be used as a test-bed.
  3. Ordered mine 28th February. Skoda apparently stopped taking orders a couple of days later. Was advised a week later that it had been assigned week 15 build. Dealer has advised again this week that it is a week 15 build with delivery approx 4 weeks after. Fingers crossed.
  4. Could I ask, did you get an engine cover with yours? My vRS is getting built in 2 weeks and Skoda Customer Services don't respond when I ask them.
  5. When I ordered my VRS last week I was advised at the time that there was a 15 week wait. Two days later salesman got in touch to say that it was getting built in 5 weeks. I noticed on Saturday that Skoda UK are no longer taking orders for new build Octavias, it existing stock only available.
  6. No. Current model. Don't think facelift is available to order yet.
  7. Ordered VRS petrol on Wednesday with rear wiper and spare wheel as only options. Dealer just advised build to be week 15, 5 weeks after ordering. Hopefully things won't alter too much.
  8. Sorry, my mistake. Vehicle data sheet says Conf. Week 201835, Production 02/09/2018 and UK arrival as 9/10/2018. I have checked the VIN No. and it matches the car on offer.
  9. It will be First Registered in June 2019. Entered UK September 2018. The promotion running is for an additional £1000 off on top of current promotions. Works out around 25% off. Also getting good valuation for current car.
  10. I was wondering if anyone had experience of getting a stock car thats 10 months old. I suspect that it has been sitting in a storage compound all this time, just a bit concerned as to what the brakes/engine will be like having been unused for that long. Any advice appreciated.
  11. I have been looking at Octavias under Skodas Just for June offer. There is a 2.0tsi available but it's build date is September 2018. Will this be OK or is there anything I should be wary of.
  12. Maybe something to do with this? https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-volkswagen-skoda-exclusive/exclusive-volkswagen-seeks-to-curb-competition-from-skoda-sources-idUKKCN1C91ES
  13. "I think it's a bit early for car rejection and hysteria." I did not say it should be rejected, I said they should find out what repairs are being carried out and act accordingly. If its not major surgery then everything should be OK. Personally, after previous experience (the sharing of which this site encourages) I would not accept a new car that has had its insides dismantled and reassembled.
  14. A few years ago I bought a brand new Seat Ibiza from a branch of "Europe's Largest Car Dealer". It was the top of the range version and my first venture into German Engineering. Had driven the car for 10 minutes when I realised that there was no chilled air coming from the Climate Control System. Took it back straight away and they flat-out said it was working when it was checked before they handed it over. After 30 mins they said they needed to keep the car and gave me a loan car. On walking out to it I could see my new car being worked on. Several days later I went back to collect it and they said that they had had to remove the dashboard to fix it. Thus began a litinay of rattles, electrical failure, electronic failure and various other issues which ended with me writing to a Director of Seat UK, being interviewed by Which magazine and getting a replacement new car. I would find out what is actually being done and if it involves major surgery think seriously about rejection or an agreement from your dealer/Skoda that you can reject it later if you find it rattles like a baby's toy. My case is probably extreme but does show what can go wrong in such instances.
