Just to set your mind at rest, Colin. Had my L&K heated windscreen done at Autoglass including calibration. Went perfectly with no problems in the past 3 years. They got me to check everything before I left. Really good service, and covered by insurance minus a relatively small excess.

Drove it home from Heathrow. No great drama, I hear you say. Except that it was parked up there for two months. And it's on the original battery, which is 5 years old. I'd made sure my jumper was fully charged before we went, but it wasn't needed. Didn't even need to use the fob to open the doors. Genuinely impressed.

Try it again. Did mine yesterday and it worked fine.

What did you replace it with @Gizmo, if you don't mind me asking?

Updated the navigation. Now it remembers how to get me most of the way home... Thanks as always to @MartiniBfor the link .

If you have the active lane guidance as well as DSG they combine to give Traffic Jam Assist, where the car will do the crawling for you (including stopping without you touching the brakes). Brilliant in my neck of the woods where the motorway run is followed by a crawl into the city centre.

Yes it's a common issue due to the lights not being sealed. It's worse in winter and disappears in spring. Nothing to worry about. There are lots of threads on here about it if you want to do a search, but the main message is don't worry about it.
