Been a very long time since I was here. Replaced my Octavia1.0 with an Ioniq A full EV I detest the very idea of hybrids ,either commit or don't,full EV ain't that big a comprise just accepted home charging is the answer. Anyway the Ioniq is just as spacious excluding boot obviously, far far far more refined ,ride quality is in a different planet entirely.and handling is no wore than the Octavia. It's much quicker far better looking costs absolutely fa to run and does 200k on a charge all day long. And crucially has a 5/8 year car/battery warranty not that I expect it to do an Octavia re falling apart around my ears. Would I ever buy an ICE car again? A most emphatic NO. My new goal is a used model 3 in 2/3 years

As per title See my last entry on my post dissapointed for context. Managed by sheer luck/stubbornness to get an almost ok trade in on my car should be picking up my 17 pure electric Ioniq tomorrow short of something going biblically wrong. Enjoyed my time here Y'all are a nice bunch of lads n lassies. Good luck n keep the shiney side up.

Okay. My driver's side C.V. has just started a machine gun impersonation, obviously Skoda keep a load of front suspension/drive line parts in a leaky shed out the back. It's gone soon as humanly possible. I'm gonna loose my shirt given it's only 1.5 and all the fleet cars Skoda sold at the same time will be coming back any second. Another Skoda? No a chance in hell.

Happy to clarify, everyday messing about/commuting same hilly b-roads etc etc 5.8l/100km ,somewhere in the 50mpg neighborhood, again to repeat I'm dissapointed the car still remains a super efficient kitchen appliance, and pleasant to be in etc etc none of those attributes have changed.

Chap you have issues,I don't brag ,try to show off , exercise my machismo or otherwise be an arse ,I do my best to lead a very Zen existence, excluding of course the whole BREXIT ******ology,"ragging" my little buzzbox on the few occasions I have done isn't going to hurt it,2000 miles's a month is appreciable, but there's still only 25000 mile's on it and it was bought to be used not as a f@#ing ornament,no let's recap just in case anybody else tries to defend/excuse the crap component quality. A boot lock 2 front calipers and pads 2 front shocks 2 front wheelbrarings. And let's just point out that it has been treated the exact same as all my previous cars on the exact same journeys.

Just by way of comparison,I have a 35 year old example of reputedly the worst car ever built ie a range rover with 275k miles on it since I stuck a very 2nd hand 200tdi in it 12 years and 10k miles ago it has had the following. Door lock return springsx4 A heater motor A complete exhaust A radiator A battery An alternator Transmission brake ,brake shoes. All of the above 35years old, except the battery, that had a 2003 label on it,the alternator was circa 1990

Yes I do get about a bit, most of my roads aren't great but all these factors haven't changed across the last 4 cars I've owned. If I wasn't determined to get a second electric car,I would happily go back to my tried and trusted scheme a buy /maintain a secondhand car myself. Regardless of what anybody tells me this car has been a dissapoinment. Unfortunately I think this is a continuing trend that's only going to become worse. Think e-class Merc ( w210) that nearly buried mercedes reputation as the ultimate expression of the fallout from cost cutting. I guess ultimately it's all an expression of the throwaway society we live in.

Read the post, reliability should be inherent regardless of price point,"quality " is what you should be paying for with your premium brand,re your Hyundai it won't break/consume a heap of very long life consumables in no time flat.
