  1. Hi Another request for help. sorry. I have ordered the front facing camera (windscreen mounted one), wiring kit and a new windscreen (courtesy of a stone chip!) for my Kodiaq which currently has just the rain sensor. Looking at the manual there are some differences in the rear view mirror assembly - does anyone know the part numbers for: 1) the rear view mirror (not the one that just attaches to the peg on the windscreen but has a much broader almost oval clip on connection 2) the 3 part (right, left and centre) plastic moulding that covers the rain sensor, camera and sensors 3) the plastic assembly that comes down from the roof lining form above the rear view mirror and (i assume) is the mount for the camera and the plastic moulding in 2) above any help would be much appreciated Thanks Matthew
  2. Hi everyone After you help... Added the rear view high camera on my Kodiaq and am very please but never satisfied. looking to add the grille camera and also the wing mirror cams and then code in arial view. just wondering if these three cameras are all 'active' i.e. have a CAN module like the rear view or are they simply dumb like the low-line cameras. Finding Skoda parts department difficult to deal with and keep being told they 'cant order those parts' which I am sure is not right?? I am assuming they are broadly the same as the Golf VII so might try VW too and see if they are any more flexible? Does anyone happen to know the pins on the Columbus head unit to for the 3 cameras - are they the other pins in the grey connector in the quadlock?
  3. DaveMiller - you have such a very polite way of saying... 1) drive properly you idiot; and 2) read the *flippin* manual! It is a reasonably steep hill and starts after a very sharp corner so one is in a strange position of needing to increase speed marginally but limit that acceleration. What I am not feeling at all is any support from the engine to retard acceleration - that engine braking - just an uncontrolled increase in revs as gravity does what it does best and me using the brake continually to manage the speed to what is needed which as you mention is not ideal down a long hill. Maybe I should re-name the post oddities of my driving style and the Chiltern Hills! Thanks for the feedback that is is by design though.
  4. Hi people Hope you're all. Happy with your skodaqs. Has anyone else seen these traits that I'm not used to seeing with my other and previous automatics... 1. Doesn't change gear when gently braking down hill... So I have a steep hill near me and my old Mercedes c class auto would start at say 30 in 4th and whilst I had my foot on the brake controlling the speed down the hill - as speed increased to 40 or 50 whilst still using brake to control acelleration the gearbox would shift to 5th a d 6th thus keeping revs at a reasonable level. My kodiaq just stays in the same gear and revs go into the red. I have to push across to manual and the shift myself up as the revs get high. Is this normal for other kodiaqs. 2. If i drive the car having put it in eco mode the maxi dot display shows the current gear as E1-7 and if i stop accelerating I get coasting displayed and what seems to be a much longer rolling travel which I assume is the eco element of it. If I'm in sport mode the display shows S1-7 and normal G1-7. However if i turn off the car and start again the columbus unit still says I'm in eco/sport (whichever I was last in) for instance but the gearbox is in normal (i.e. Displaying G1-7) not eco or sport. I then have to press the button by the gear shift, select the mode on the display, select the eco or sport mode again and then the gearbox will change to eco with the coasting thing or sport and not be such a slug. Is this what others are seeing too?? Thanks
  5. Hi everyone Im confused! I have got an oem rear view high camera and kauftec loom. I have fitted it into my new kodiaq scout columbus unit. It is coded into the gateway, navigation and ops modules as required. My problem is it doesn't activate when put in reverse - the screen has changed to show the ops diagram in the lower left and a large black area where the reverse picture should be. So part way there but no luck. To see what is happening I looked at the mould ulema live data (using obdeleven eleven) and can seems to work fine as it registers reverse and also steering angle. I have also activated the video feed using the test functions in obdeleven and that displays the image on the columbus display. So everything works apart from working automatically when putting it in reverse. Looking at the long coding it is just a long string of 00 00 00....... 00's and therefore isn't right. It also has a fault saying there are no basic settings. I cannot change any of the basic settings or adaptation values as it errors about 'marginal conditions not being met' when I try. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks
