  1. Reviving this post. So I found a workaround over the internet to get Mirrorlink to support all apps. I tested this method while the car was stationary. My current setup is company provided headunit with hardware 526 that supports Mirrorlink. I have a Samsung note 9 phone which is Mirrorlink compatible. Apps used: LG MirrorDrive: https://apk.co/lg-electronics-inc/lg-mirrordrive-1212 Rockscout: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.carconnectivity.mlmediaplayer&hl=en_IN Button Saviour: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smart.swkey.nonroot&hl=fr&rdid=com.smart.swkey.nonroot Preparation Steps: Install LG MirrorDrive, RockSout and Button Saviour Activate Button Saviour, you will see overlay icons lined up to the right side of the screen Disable notifications for LG MirrorDrive Close all apps before connecting to the headunit. Now onto the headunit: Connect the phone to the headunit Click on Mirrorlink you will presented with the Mirrorlink compatible apps Select Rockscout and wait for it to load By this time you will see the button saviour icons to the right side of the screen Now click the back button provided by the Mirrorlink on the system you should see the list of Mirrorlink compatible apps Now select LG MirrorDrive A blank screen should open up and then the system will shift to Rockscout app Now you will see a pop up saying the APP can't be run. Click "Ok". screen will stay on Rockscout Now click the back button from the "Button Saviour" app This will take you to the home screen of your phone. If the screen momentarily appears and leaves, then try again and wait for the pop-up message. HTH
  2. The suspension strut mounting had to be replaced because it was worn out. It is not covered under warranty. The charge amounted to 2.6K(1.1 for parts and 1.5 for labor) :( I was extremely disappointed with the quality.
  3. Since it is a wear and tear part, it is not covered under warranty.
  4. The issue was because of rust in the bearings. Had to change the bearings @ 1040 INR with labor charge around 1.6K INR :( Disappointed with the quality.
  5. I enquired about the head-unit software update and the service center guys told me that I will have to change the system to get Android Auto and CarPlay. Looks like they themselves don't have a clear picture of what's going on and what is possible because when I enquired the showroom guys they said there will be a software update soon. This is a dead end for now.
  6. Oh, is it? I went to skoda service center today. They said they are seeing some fault code on the system and they have to open the hood to check what the issue is. Another problem was hard steering, this was there since the vehicle was delivered. I have dropped the vehicle and home now waiting for them to respond. Fingers crossed.
  7. mine is DSG automatic. No, not while pressing the accelerator.
  8. Hi, My rapid has done 11.5K on the ODO. My friend recently pointed out that there is grinding noise when I steer my vehicle. It is very mild until you notice. This is more evident with increased weight in the car. Also, right from the time of purchase the steering has been a bit tight. Any one else faced the same issue or come across it?
  9. I know this thread is old. might be helpful to someone. My friend tried mirror link on his VW, the Mirrorlink is absolutely useless. The only navigation app that is allowed is the "Sygic" which is pathetic and the touch response is not good at all.
  10. No Idea on that. I am visiting the service station tomorrow. I will ask them again. My car has done 11.5K KMS. I notice a mild grinding noise when i turn the steering wheel while on stationery and on the move. Has anyone else faced the same issue?
  11. I recently spoke to Tafe access showroom in Silk Board Bangalore. They said that there is an update scheduled for Rapid 2017 version. Fingers crossed now.
  12. Hi, I bought a Skoda Rapid 2017 AT edition which comes with Mirrorlink. Is there any way that I can get the Smart-link(Android Auto and CarPlay) capability? The new Rapid comes with Smartlink enabled. Can I upgrade the software in my headunit to get the Smartlink capability? I have attached the hardware and software versions.
  13. I tweeted Skoda India about this and they asked me to request this with the local dealer. I emailed them and there's no response. Can you guys also try with your dealers?
  14. I meant Skoda Rapid India cars' VIN numbers don't work in that website because we don't have the listed radio systems. That website is only for updating the following systems. Columbus Amundsen Bolero Swing
