  1. I have an aftermarket one - not sure of make though. It's rubbish! The amount of play in the actuator where is joins the 4 butterfly's is unreal - I won't be fitting it. You'd be better off finding a low mileage used one and order a couple of OEM rubber gaskets and go from there. It would also be worth pulling the injectors, give them a clean and replace the 'O' rings etc. Re the aftermarket inlet manifold, I'll try and find out it's make and let you know...
  2. Hi all, I know that this has probably been answered many time before but.... What do I need to converts a non multi function steering wheel car to MFSW? I know I will need a steering wheel, what else would be required? Thanks...
  3. Rear seat bench's available? 60/40 split version - only need the metal frames...
  4. Thanks for your very detailed reply. The obvious option to go for would be the Columbus (RNS-510) - it's just finding someone local to me that can help with the coding! What would the Bolero unit be worth? its in very good working order and condition...
  5. DAB I can live without - GPS and surround easily sorted - it's just the coding!?
  6. Ok,... Sat Nav would be good to have - is the Columbus a simple case of plug n play + add nav ariel?
  7. Would you be interested in a Bolero as part trade in? Currently in car, good working order - screen good, can send pictures. it's in a 2010 MK2 FL Octavia VRS.
  8. To be honest I don't know! hence asking what a worth while upgrade would be? or do I just leave it as is?
  9. I have a MK2 FL Octavia with the Bolero head unit and was wondering what worth while upgrade can be easily sorted? I would like to keep all the on screen stuff like climate control, parking distance etc... Looking for pretty much a plug 'n' play upgrade...
  10. xX S O L D Xx Set of 4 Neptune alloys in excellent and pretty much unmarked condition having had a full refurb carried out by MY Alloys just a few hundred miles a go. Fitted with 4 matching Yokohama 225/40/18 tyres which all have a good 5mm + tread. OE centre caps could do with replacing but I have covered them with VRS self adhesive replacements which do the job nicely. Wheel sizes are: 7.5'' x 18'' - 5 x 112 - ET 51mm. Was going to keep these for my Winters but, I have 3 sets of alloys and have decided to keep my aftermarket multi-spokes for winter. Will post up pictures as soon as I have washed them... Looking for as close to £400.00 as possible which I think is a fair asking price given their excellent condition. I also have a set of 4 spacers and bolts if you want them to sit more tastefully in the arches! from memory the rears are 15mm and the fronts 12mm. £60.00 would buy these ready to fit. These will of course fit other 5 stud VAG. Sale is collection only from Basingstoke, Hants. One wheel is missing the VRS centre badge, I have this ready to be fitted...
  11. Up-rated springs will generally lower as well as stiffen the ride. You could swap the VRS springs for something from a std spec car to soften the ride but that defeats the object of owning a VRS! Plus std springs will add about another 15mm to the height. Genuine AUDI rotors are very very heavy and that was part of the problem - the un-sprung weight was vastly increased in each corner making the ride a lot more 'crashy!' I went for after market 18's but got the weight of them before I ordered - my current set up is lighter that OEM 18's.
  12. I went 19's on my MK2 FL Combi VRS - genuine Audi 19'' rotors with 225/35/19 tyres and hated the ride! it looked great but not enough to make me want to keep them... They were on for a few days and I switched back to 18's and sold the 19's. Mine has been subtly lowered using good suspension, I use it a fair bit for work going in to London and in my opinion the difference between the ride of 18's and 19's is vast! I know others on this site have gone 19's and reckon there's not a lot of difference in the ride quality etc - personally I don't agree! maybe it's because I'm getting old!!!
  13. I've recently done front brake upgrade using Tarox F2000 disc's and Tarox Strada pada - Wow what a difference! I also have a brake fluid flush / replace to do using Tarox's own blend.
  14. +1 for the splitter and anti-lift kit. Splitter - same as bullawayo's and zero problems - no vibration and no additional wind noise. Use a sensible number of nuts, bolts and penny washers to pull it tight to the bumper and you won't have any issues. Decent size washers are important as it stops the nuts and bolts eating in to the surfaces which will cause them to become loose and possibly induce vibration that you've been told about and f you want to go all out belts and braces use silicon or something similar to bond it to the bumper along with the N's & B's. Whiteline anti-lift kit - fitted mine a few months back when the sun was out! In my opinion it's well worth the money! has made getting traction far better and sharpened up the handling a tad.
  15. For the kind of money the eBay ones are selling for it may be worth looking at finding another good OE set or look at a known manufacturer like FOX racing or RIVA. With these makes you can buy a single rim should you ever damage one beyond repair and they are UK supplied so easy enough to get hold of. I use Wheelbase alloys - the service has always been good from them and you can normally get a good deal.
  16. Did you go 18's or 19's in the end?
  17. H & R 50mm spring kit will give you around a 35mm drop on the VRS. I ran them on my combi for a few weeks, it looked good but the ride was very harsh! I'm now running KW Comfort coilovers and love it - looks, ride and handling are great. If you go for a low spring kit, do shocks as well - std shocks don't like being run too short, the internal valving can't work properly and you'll knock them out after a while.
  18. Contents of the 4 big boxes fitted... I was looking around 'again' for something a bit different for wheels. Having found these I then came across 'Skinnymans' Octy estate with the same wheel in Grey, so I thought why not! They are FOX MS006's - 8 x 18 ET45 - 225/40/18 Yokahama V105 rubber Comments welcomed, but be kind... Contents of little box to be fitted on a better day.
  19. £150.00 and it's v/good condition! so happy with that. I'm tempted to pull the old unit apart, remove the motor so that I can get the part number off of it and go from there. Have spoken to Skoda parts and the motors are not listed as a separate item apparently.
  20. Now sorted :-) 2nd hand headlight sourced via ebay - drove to London first thing this morning to collect. Fitted and checked it whilst there and all is back to normal - minimal bit of adjustment need's doing just to get it back in line with the N/S...
  21. Still waiting to hear back. As soon as you ask if they are in good working order and the level motors etc work as they should things go very quiet!
  22. Cheers, Have already been in touch with both sellers to see if I can try before I buy...
  23. Diagnosis complete and its the motor for the up / down level function that has packed up... Although the headlights are handed ( I know, stating the obvious ), the wiring loom connectors and the socket in the back of the headlights is not handed. So, I removed both headlights swapped them round and sat them on a couple of 'hop ups' plugged them back in and this is the result. The left HL now plugged in to the O/S now does the full check and the right HL now plugged in to the N/S still only performs the side sweep. Have had a good look inside of the O/S unit as best as I can and all seems intact and nothing rattles around if you give it a shake. The adjusters work fine and I have pulled all the connectors and given them a good waggle in case of a dirty connection - still nothing, so that just leaves the motor as being the cause. What I did discover when this happened and I first removed the light was that the black square cover plate for dipped beam had not been clipped back in place properly and it was part open at the bottom! so I think this failure is most likely down to moisture ingress. Now to track down a good used H/L for a sensible price...
