silencer part numbers required please for....
My 2009 1.8 TSI exhaust broke earlier this year, just where the pipe joins the middle box, hunted around and the price for that was £700 plus, and a six month wait for the replacement section, could not wait that long as it is a used daily, for the whole system i was quoted £1500. Checked around the local custom exhaust fabricators and got the complete system replaced in stainless steel for £750, with ten year guarantee. As an aside looking for a new battery, no designation in the handbook of size physical or Ah needed, anybody got any ideas for this?

Tyres problem
Mileage/KM seems to be high for front wheel drive, maybe the age of the tyres is a cause of the failure.

New exhaust fitted
The catalytic converter was not replaced, the joint between the cc and the end of the exhaust is one section, and had to be completely replaced as the exit pipe from the first box had parted company from the first box, and was not suitable for a repair. Therefore the whole section first and rear box had to be replaced with new items, the first box section was available at £700 pounds but no rear box was available for 6 months with a new MOT due next month.

New exhaust fitted
Had a new exhaust system fitted about a month ago, as the old one cracked and parted between the outlet side and the middle/front box. (Octavia 1.8 TSI L&K autobox) Checked around and found to replace was going to be about £1200 for the full section from cat joint to system, i.e. two box pieces and the connecting piping. So went to local custom shop and got a three box stainless system installed for approx £650. Sounds very nice and significant smoothing of the engine but seems to be using about 10-15% extra fuel overall, usually got readings of 400 miles + when filling to max, but now looking at 350, do i need to get it remapped or reset the ecu etc.

Tyres problem
Ok so looking at about 40000 miles, are these tyres on the front or rear? Looking on magnification it does not look like wear to me, seems to be separation of the side wall to the tread area. Possible fault in the jointing of the areas, or damaged during driving, kerbed or potholed.

Tyres problem
What mileage has been done on the tyres, did you have them fitted, have you had any severe or strange front end (when driving) movements recently?.
