  1. Hi all, I’ve had our Skoda Octavia estate for 6 years now and it’s one of the best vehicles I’ve ever owned. It’s a 2 litre diesel and is fitted with a westfalia towbar and electrics. I needed to bring our caravan home last year, but when connected up, the electrics wouldn’t operate the lights on my van. Hitched up to another vehicle and they worked fine. I won’t bore you with how I got the van home, but on checking out why the car’s electrics wouldn’t operate I found that if I put the 7 pin adapter into the 13 pin socket, and connected an LED light board that I have, it all worked, but when the van is plugged into the 13 pin, once again not a thing lights up. Has anyone else ever had this problem? I’ve had the car checked by a towbar specialist and he thinks there must be a failed module that is behind one of the panels in the boot. I can’t take it back to where it was fitted originally, as the company no longer exists. Wiring loom was Westfalia product. Any help welcomed.
  2. I have a 2016 Skoda Octavia estate. Apart from the media taking ages to load , (which now seems to have corrected itself), I can no longer get any traffic reports when I press the “TRAFFIC “ button on my info screen. I am not aware of switching anything off and according to the manual, this is permanently loaded. Anyone else had the same problem, or can recommend a reset of some kind. Cheers 😉
  3. Beat me to it Dave. Tried a different battery Panasonic 2032 instead of a 2025. Worked first time. I can only assume it was a contact problem, as the 2032 is slightly thicker. All ok now, and my money still in my pocket, not the Skoda dealers. thanks for all the suggestions guys.
  4. Have run out of ideas now. Tried 3 fully charged batteries, all to no avail. Still got no flashing light. Looks like a call to the main dealer this morning.😉. Better see if I can get a second mortgage at £90+ an hour labour 😊
  5. Anyone else had this problem? I store all my music on an SD2 card in my Mk3 Octavia. It was fine until I had an oil change and the service reminder was removed. Now it takes about a minute to load when the Media button is pressed. I’ve seen various video clips on YouTube, but am wary of cocking up the system. The garage insists it’s not down to them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  6. No Gaz. Have just tried another battery. 3.28 volts on the meter and the light doesn’t flash at all now 😉.
  7. I have replaced the battery in my Octavia Mk3 key fob. The battery is fine , full voltage. The red light indicator on the fob flashes really fast and it does not unlock the doors. Is this something I need to take to the man dealer to fix? I have changed the batteries myself before with no issues like this. Any help is appreciated.
