DVSA have baled, they say that it's not a safety issue 🙄

If over tightening was the issue then of course a higher tensile bolt would have prevented the failure. My gut feeling is that they haven't been tightened enough, causing the fixture to fret against the bolt head. I'm going to try and retrieve the original rail for inspection and to prove that nothing underhand is taking place ,I will be very surprised if so.

What a fiasco. Garage that I use have phoned me today to inform me that they have had to order a new fuel as the old rail has bent. I can't see how the rail could have bent, I'm going to get the old one back of course ,so I can examine it. I'm going to send an email to skoda uk about the issue.

Correct, plus I couldn't risk the extortionate labour rates. It's definitely a hazard though. Should time not have been an issue and was doing the work myself i would have ordered some 10.9 or 12.9 bolts to put my mind at rest.

Absolutely mint,top marks 👌 I have removed all the bolts and the coolant pipes from the upper part of the inlet manifold. It still seems reluctant to come off,is there anything underneath that needs removing? Rain has stopped play at the minute

One of the fuel rail bolts has sheared. Can anyone give me a quick guide to removing the manifold so that i can drill the stud out? Many thanks, desperate 🙏

I think you may be right. Been away this week and done a lot of driving, not really noticed it. Yet did a journey a couple of weeks ago and it was the only thing that I could focus on and it seemed horrendous. Thanks to all for input.

Anyone noticed a vague feeling in the steering when driving on a motorway or dual carriageway? It's like a feeling of, for want of a better word,notchiness , when the steering wheel is moved slightly either side of centre. Car is a 2016 Monte with 14k miles Thanks

I have recently had my work computer updated from xp to windows 10. My work involves writing programs for a cnc machine , each program has a new 7 digit number , the next one is written with the next no. and so on. When saved on my old comp these files were save int0 a folder in batches of 100, When this was reached it created another folder with a new name for the next 100. All done automatically. This no longer happens on the new comp. Is this something that can be implemented easily (I am a bit of a duffer with computers)? Thanks in advance.

What are the symptoms of the vvt seal failure?

I had trouble connecting my Huawei p8 to my Fabia, but solved it by using a better usb cable (Anker powerline). Access the android auto app on your phone then plug it in. Go to the menu on the infotainment system and select the android auto option (I think the ignition needs to be on) If the android auto icon is not in the menu then select smartlink , device, then select your phone. I think the android auto app is brilliant. Listen to music via Spotify, plus the voice control button on the steering wheel works.

Cheers Alltorque, Can you flatten and polish the enamel paint, the chips are quite deep (Changing the wheels I had to knock them off as they were seized to the hubs, thinks to myself, I better put some old carpet on the floor just in case the wheel suddenly comes away. Did I do it? Did I heck. Hence the chips. Ouch, lesson learnt).
