Phil-E's post in Over revving Yeti 1.2 TSI DSG was marked as the answerThere is an inclination sensor fitted to the car that detects when you're going up or down a hill and combines that with engine load and throttle position etc to decide to change down or not to provide extra engine braking.
It's perfectly normal and unfortunately as you've found out the only way round is to use manual mode.
There is no danger is letting the engine rev by the way and there is no possibility of over revving in drive mode. While using engine braking and your foot off the throttle you are using zero fuel and not having to use the brakes to slow down.

Phil-E's post in DIY AUX cable location suggestions? was marked as the answerThe radio code is indeed synced with the instrument cluster.
So as along as it is put back in the same vehicle they talk to each other and authorise it. It may prompt for the code initially but just leave the ignition on for a while and it will re-code itself.
I've seen someone put the aux socket into one of the blank buttons underneath the climate control panel.

Phil-E's post in DSG coasting in Eco mode was marked as the answerNo it doesn't apply to an automatic vehicle as should the need arise the clutch is re-engaged quickly and automatically and with it not being a conventional clutch or one that can be in any way controlled by the driver it doesn't apply.
And yes it can save fuel in certain driving conditions. Obviously the benefit being that driving on flat or slight down hill sections you can travel further without loosing momentum and only a small amount of fuel is used to maintain engine idle speed.

Phil-E's post in timing chain replacement interval ? was marked as the answerThere's no specific interval on the 1.4 MPi.
If it rattles badly all the time then it is recommended to change it.
The odd "jingle" it will probably be fine.

Phil-E's post in Headlight washer cover was marked as the answerIt just clips on but the washer inside is sprung so recoils further into the bumper without the cover attached.
You need to pull the washer mechanism then clip the cover back on.

Phil-E's post in Fabia 1.6TDi CR Driving Advice was marked as the answerOh and what I mean by that is if possible a couple of fast starts reving out in each gear till you get up to speed is good.
Slip roads are good places for this in 2nd or 3rd gear depending on speed and floor it and don't change up till just before the red line.
Driving a new engine too gently can cause more damage than good.
