HELP please! VCDS not giving me option of Bluetooth.

Featured Replies

Guys I want to buy the Bluetooth mic for my blackline but before I do I need to enable it in VCDS.

I followed the guide on here but when I go to long code helper I get the following two tick boxes but not Bluetooth telephone.

Its a blackline with Amundsen + so should defo have the option.

Any ideas what im doing wrong, I can be a complete spanner so probably operator input error!

I wrote the how to it is correct. Are you using a legal copy of VCDS?

Wouldn't think you could enable mic till you've actually fitted it.

Well that's what i'm not sure of because in the guide the first step is to enable it. But it could well be the issue. Thing its only the mic that needs fitting the Amundsen + should have Bluetooth module built in its just not enabled by default. I wanted to test it before buying the mic.

Yes its legit full hex / can - usb purchased from Nigel @ vagcom.biz. Im using the latest version downloaded from ross tech a few days ago.

In your guide you have first procedure to enable the tick box, are you sure this should be available prior to fitting the mic?

You don't need the mic fitted to enable it as you can stream music from your phone to the headunit.

Are you definitely going in to 37 Navigation?

Yes sorry I should have included a shot of the previous windows for clarification. I followed the guide to the letter the tickbox is just not there.

I have no idea but it should be the same Amundsen + unit that was supplied in everyone else's backline no?

Link says byte 3 bit 5, your screen shot is on byte 0.

I noticed this but how do you get to byte 3?

It says nothing in the guide of navigating there.

Under 3) on your picture.

Click on the 3rd box that currently has 04 in it. That's Byte 3.

Makes perfect sense now, but I didn't know that thanks. Told you im a bit of a spanner, I'll give it a go when I

get home and report back.

Thinking about it might be the next box as the first one is byte 0. Just click through them till you see the option you need.

I didn't realise you could click on the boxes. Must say the interface could be more intuitive I tried all sorts.

You can also scroll through with the up/down arrow keys on the keyboard.

Agreed. It's taken me a while to get used to it.

Hope you manage to get it activated.

I will check mine when I get home as I have a Blackline.

If VCDS is hard work, thank your lucky stars you didn't buy VCP instead!

OK what you need to do is press the down arrow until the fourth byte is highlighted it's the 01 highlighted in yellow. In your screen you will see bit 5 ticked so just untick it and follow the rest of the link I posted job done.

Sorry I missed that you were in the right controller but not the right screen until I just checked mine.

I did try the arrow keys but I must have been pressing left and right I even tried tab key lol.
