Hatchback Dog Car Boot Divider
SunsetZed replied to SunsetZed's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Anyone please, surely I can't be the only one needing this! -
Hi, Does anyone have any recommendations, Travall look to be the big player in the market but as far as I can see they only have a product for the Mk3 estate or the Mk4 hatch which doesn't help me. I'm looking for something similar to the image below

Drivers Side passenger headlight washer cover
SunsetZed replied to SunsetZed's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Thanks for the reply guys, much appreciated. I think TPS only sell to the trade so I guess it's a dealer question. -
Someone hit my car earlier today in a car park (no note left of course). Fortunately there aren't any dents but there are scratches I'll need to get tidied up but worst of all the headlight cover has been knocked off and was nowhere to be seen. A few quesyions; 1. Where's best to get a new one from? 2. Is the drivers side (UK) called the left or the right? 3. Is it possible to get them pre painted or are they all supplied primed and if so will the person fixing the scratches likely to be able to spray this at the same time?

Advice on buying a mk3 vrs
SunsetZed replied to Phil Tomlin's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Realistically I'm afraid right now you're not going to have many options at that budget, I'm guessing you'll be looking at a fairly high mileage 2013 or 2014 car so I'd be buying on condition and service history and not worrying so much around heated seats (which can be retrofitted I think). As Sc03ott says they all have DAB and Sat Nav (although how good the Sat Nav is is questionable!). -
I didn't know it could do that!
SunsetZed replied to Telboy5's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I've had it as well a few times. In particular at one junction on the A34 where the road curves round to the left on the junction and the Sat Nav is set to shortest distance -
Try and find similar ones on Autotrader and save the adverts and then if the offer from your insurer is lower than those prices share the links with the insurer

Console phone holder for mk3 VRS facelift
SunsetZed replied to purephotoni's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I think this is the original (link includes part number) but it doesn't fit newer phones and I think is what the OP got with the car. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284461462652?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338365712&toolid=20006&customid=EB26878118& -
Console phone holder for mk3 VRS facelift
SunsetZed replied to purephotoni's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
This is the one I've got. Previously I had one with just a phone space (which came with all mk.3's and early 3.5's I think) and the image you've shared was the replacement, it fits in the cupholders in my car albeit not quite as nicely as the first one did. -
Thanks @simonds3135 and everyone else for the replies. I'll reach out to a couple of local tyre places and see if they are more reasonable!
-
@simonds3135 which VW garage quoted you the £115? Seems I didn't include you properly on the previous message
-
Thanks all for the feedback. Just so that I understand a little more with the Active Cruise Control (as I think dad has that) what exactly do they have to do and would that price have been fair, based on the £115 quoted above it sounds like no (which VW garage was that @simonds3135? My thinking is that if the tracking was out anyway the alignment would make the ACC more accurate than it is today?!
-
I've got a 2018 VRS without Active Cruise Control and I'd like to get the tracking checked as I think that it's out by a little however Skoda insist diagnostics need to be run and would like to charge me more than £200. Has anyone else had any experience of this and is a good independent tyre place (North Somerset if anyone has recommendations!) going to be more sympathetic here and just adjust the tracking?
-
It goes in the same place, it doesn't take up both cup holders but it does reduce the space for the second one a little bit

Rear ashtray - alternative parts
SunsetZed replied to Dave77's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
It was an option, not all Facelifts have it. -
Thanks for the reply, the light on the fob isn't flashing either. It's still under warranty so fingers crossed it would be covered as I don't really fancy £200 to get a key remote working
-
After changing the battery the key lost it's sync with the car. I've followed the manual procedure of pressing a button and locking / unlocking the car with the key but still nothing. I don't get a notification about the battery being low in the key any longer so I'm assuming that the battery isn't the issue. Has anyone else had this and if so how did you resolve it? Given current circumstances I'd love to avoid a trip to the dealer even more than usual!
-
Yeah it just leaves a bad taste and what do they achieve, maybe a couple of quid from those who cough up? Doesn't seem worth it in the long run to me.

Update on this one, I had a new ski hatch fitted today as the mechanism was broken. Having told me that this wasn't covered as part of the warranty then after a little bit of to-ing and fro-ing with customer services and it was agreed that Skoda and my local dealership would share the cost and I wouldn't pay for a replacement so the result was good but I don't understand why it wasn't initially covered by the warranty to be honest. It's not like I use it often, I remember opening it when I got the car (Mar-18) and not sure I'd tried to use it again since until I picked up a couple of garden canes in June and tried it and it wouldn't open.

Same for me, Amundsen Stereo as I guess that may be causing the difference

Post your favourite picture of your Mk3!
SunsetZed replied to GlitchGolder's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
This was the day it arrived, and having waited until the 3rd March to get the new plate enough snow (Southerner alert!) fell during the previous 2 days that I wasn't sure if it would be delivered. Turns out it was and I wasn't the only one who was happy about it!- 14 replies

Anyone?! Lots of reads but no solutions (so hopefully this isn't a common problem!)
-
I'm wondering if anyone can save me a trip to the dealer. When trying to pull the ski hatch handle (front or back) it feels as though whilst the internal metal latch does move it'cs catching on something and jamming so I can't open the ski hatch, has anyone else had this and / or has anyone got any tips to open it? Thanks

Thanks got it (in IE, guess I need to download a Firefox update!)
