  1. Did the update too. For me the new app sems identical to the old Skoda Connect one - I have the same info about the status of the doors and lights, vehicle status (mileage and oil change interval), parking position on the map (with the option to honk&flash), driving data trip planner, vehicle health report (I have also genereted one ), trip planner and service partner. The only thing that's changed is adding the manual of the car. However, in the old MySkoda app I could see the digital service plan (stiil, only the date of the inspections and not what actually was done to the car) I'm waiting to see if sone new data will show up while driving (info that was shown in the old Skoda Ona app) - I will post an update later on. LE. As my car is from 2017, the Remote connection only refers to see the status of the doors&lights, to pinpoint the parking position on the map and to honk&flash remotely. Starting with 2018, the card with Care Connect can also be locked/unlocked via the app if the Skoda account is verified.
  2. Yes, I do not have a SIM, I was told that it's a module of somekind. I may be wrong but I kinda recall that I've read somewhere that it's located on the roof, near the mirror, where the emergency buttons are located. This is for the 2017-2018 FL model equipped with Care Connect option.
  3. Maybe they've changed something? Cost-reduction, as usual? Otherwise, I don't know what to say. One more thing, last year I went to the dealer to "verify my account". But even before I could use and had all the info in the Skoda Connect. As far as I remember, verifying the account had to do only with locking/unlocking via the app.
  4. But If you go to Skoda Connect portal -> click on SHOP (top row) what licenses do you have activated?
  5. @Rajj This is what I get under the Care Connect - Remote access on the website you mentioned
  6. I have the Care Connect and Infotainment Online services activated. But the Care Connect option is the one in question here. This is the info for my car:
  7. No, no actual/visible SIM. It's a communication module (OCU module) I guess, as I had some problems with it this spring - It stopped working and were errors with Skoda Connect app - they had to do a reset of somekind. Back to topic, yes, if the car has the Care Connect option, even with the Amundsen (and I remember that is also true with Bolero) the car can communicate with Skoda servers and you receive information via the Skoda Connect app. I was told that this communication works even in roaming - I guess the cost of the Care Connect option covers entirely the cost of this communication.
  8. I have the Amundsen w/Care Connect - car is since 2017, O3 FL. With the Skoda Connect (in the iOS it is not yet upgraded) I am able to see the car's position, details about trip info, fuel etc., status of the windows/doors AND I can use the app to honk the car/flash the blinkers. Also I can generate a vehicle report. All these I can do regardless I am in the car or not/engine is running or not. As I know, the Amundsen with Care Connect option has a built-in sim card that can communicate to Skoda servers in order to generate the info/actions described. Also, starting with production date 2018, the app can be used to lock/unlock the car (with the Care Connect option).
  9. I have experienced the same issues even with an iphone 8. To have internet in the car, I need to click on personal hotspot in control panel (make it discoverable) and then, usually, the Amundsen connects to my phone. But after stopping for a short time (gas sation for example), the car does not reconnect automatically to the hotspot and sometimes, even if I follow the steps detailed, it's hard to make the connection... I reckon it has to do with Apple, as the hotspot keeps reverting to non-discoverable
  10. OK, thanks! I've just checked, it's FAT32 with 32kb sector size. Format it with 4096k? But first I just have to buy another router, it just died after a power surge So, hopefully tomorrow morning will download the file and then reformat the card.
  11. Hello! Anyone knows if the ECE A1 file (entire Europe) still fits onto the 16GB Skoda SD card?
  12. Also in Romania for the 14tsi 110kW one dealer said it needed to upgrade the radiator - fitting the OEM tow bar. Another dealer did not mention this, but I sent an email stating that the only reason I wanted the tow bar was the bike rack.
  13. Nice! Also wanted a retrofit like this, but since I did not opt for DSG paddles the service told me that I cannot swap the steering wheel with one that has paddles. Don't know exactly why, maybe I don't have the "high" can gateway? They just told me it's a "no go" and since I'm still under warranty did not bother much to inquiry much....
