  1. Ok, so the only remedy is a new motor/entire part?
  2. Today, after a drive through town, I noticed that I had a little liquid in the trunk. Looking more closely, it was the protective cover of the tailgate that was wet. I managed to unscrew the whole cover and the liquid is gushing out next to the plug from the motor - not the white coupling, but the black one attached to the motor. That plug moves as if there is no grip between the 2 parts . Video here: https://imgur.com/B8vnBnT Liquid flows normally from the wiper and the rear camera, but it also drips quite a lot here while functioning. Will a new motor be needed? or is there something that can be done.. Thanks
  3. These lights will not move in a spectacular way. You barely see any change. Go to a dealer/garage and ask for a proper alignment. I had the same issue and only after I asked for the proper setup, with a person inside and have the headlamps in service mode, I saw an inprovement. Still, now the beam is just under the line as per the aligment machine, BUT in a lot oc cases, going on a motorway on the fast line and having a smaller car (like a Rno clio/ Pejo 307 etc) on my right, I can clearly see the light projected in the front-right side is above their rear window. It’s because of the light pattern, is’s going “up” on the right side - all traffic signs are illuminated while driving on the motorway. For the static cornering, go inside a garage / with walls on each side , at night and preferably with no additional light and when turning the wheels you can clearly see there are some additional leds turning on and projecting light.
  4. Well just to add some closure: bought both licenses from the dealer - were about 25% cheaper. Guess though it’ll be the last year for online infotainment - having an iphone I found out it randomly disconnects from internet, I have to fiddle with phone’s hotspot to reenable. Also I have a couple of addresses saved from online and 2 days in a row - first day it guided me correctly, second day the satnav only wanted to drive me to the city centre - despise multiple attempts to set the correct address, it routed me to city centre. Weird! Then again, selected. Shell gas station only to find out it was no more there for more than 1 year (it’s another company)
  5. Whilst deiving on the highway (in a foreign country, on the way to the holiday hotel) managed to “catch” a stone and this happened. Have spoken to a guy and said it’s not 100% sure a repair would work. On top, is there a problem as the windshiled is heated (can the wiring be affected)? So, what do you think - can it be repaired?
  6. Thanks for the info. I want care Connect, even though I have Connect Lite as I want to be able to check if doors are locked But with the Online infotainment I'm not sure, as since Apple Carplay it's way easier to use it instead of the car's satnav. Seems a bit a waste of money to keep this subscription. Regarding the costs, doing it online via Connect's portal the prices are the same year-round (my case) but I also found out that my dealer offers some renewal codes that are cheaper - downside is that I have to drive there, pay and after 2-3 days the codes arrive - I'm just assuming I'd have to enter the codes in Conect portal under "I have renewal codes"...
  7. So it’s been 5 years with the car and this year I’m thinking to renounce the renewal of the “online infotainment” service. I want just the Care connect features. I mainly drive with Carplay and almost never use the online services. But I have some questions: - not having online infotainment means just not being able to search for online gas stations/parking places or specific addresses through Google, right? Other navigation functions will continue to function, right? - can I renew the service at a later date, if needed (after some months). This is mainly due to having an iphone and the unit is not automatically connected to internet so basically even on holidays I’d have to start car, switch on phone’s hotspot, wait for the unit to connect, bypass some messages that I don’t have internet, then all would be ok. And if stopped for a break on the road, do all these steps again. Basically, can I still continue to have Care connect and no online infotainment? Thanks
  8. Thanks, first time (last year) I asked for (another) computer diagnostic that relevealed the misfire error. Since then no error, no warning light on my dash. Except for this new inspection I'll go to a friend with a vag-com diagnostic unit to see. This year also the warranty is finally over so I'll go to different services. About the battery, will see this summer how it goes, I hate that I have to go to service to recode the battery and do a bunch of operations...
  9. Hi, so it's ben the second year going to a dealer for the yearlly inspection (oil change is another appointment) and when starting the engine in the dealers yard after the service was done, and not driving immediately (adjusting seats papers etc) I get a some weird issues/errors: - last year I got for the first time the EPC error and Start/Stop error on the infotainment. Went back, they hooked it up (again) on the computer and said it was a misfire error. Cleared it. Never came back since; - this year I got a flashing Emission control systeem indicator and the Start/Stop error on the infotainment. Stopped the engine, opened the door, started it, only S/S error on the infotainment (also there was a key battery low but I guess it's nothing to do). Stoppes the car, closed it, went inside to talk to a mechanic, came back, started the car, no error. Tried a couple of times, no error. Left the dealer, all good. Car seems to accelerate ok, will have a long Sunday trip and will see... Also, this morning when leaving for the service I checked on Skoda Connect Lite and it showed 13,4V (or maybe it was way too earlly and I didn't have my glasses on). Dealer did a battery test with VAS6161 (June 2017 car, original battery) and it showed 295A and 12,34V. They said soon I may need to change it. I still have S/S functional and always kicking it in in traffic, so I guess the battery is still holding on. After leaving the service, and in heavy traffic battery is showing 12V-12,3.. Any ideas on the above issues? Thanks.
  10. Read this a couple of daya ago and gave it another try. And all worked fine, Skoda connect was back online. So it was a ghitch from their servers. Now I'm upset as I was relaxed that I wouldn't have to pay to extend this option, but since it's working again I feel the "urge" to pay for the whole package, not just the Care Connect features.
  11. Hi. Same thing happened also to me. Changed the iphones recently and, as I haven't used the online infotainment in a while, firstly I thought it was related to the update done in early december for the SW - from 02xx to 0480 (but weirdly in December I remember using the services). So, after resetting the Skoda connect user from the infotainment I've received the email with the registration code and managed to re-activate the car. BUT in the infotainment, in the Settings menu - Skoda connect services, now I only have the "private mode" and "care connect" options (tha latter being checked, of course). The "online services" option has dissapered And clicking on the Skoda connect in the manin menu returns the same error as you have mentioned: "no internet connection". Well, seems that starting this spring, when my care connect and infotainment online options need to be re-purchased, I'll only stick with the Care connect option And I guess that finding gas stations along the route when using the Amundsen's navigation will rely on what's already included as POIs in the map (without using the online infotainment services)
  12. So, last year in december I did the ACC retrofit, and also went from SW 02xx to SW 0480. All was good and worked flawlessly - infotainment I mean. Tfhis week I've switched to the iphone 13 (from xs), and after setting the new phone, I went to the car. - BT was immediately found, all good - Carplay took some twaking but after an engine off/on the phone connected and worked - Wifi also tooka while until I found out I had to enable maximum compatibility in the hotdpot menu, to get it to work in 2.4GHz, but then it connected to the car. BUT Skoda connect doesn't seem to work, says No internet connection. Care connect is working (I can see the car details in the app/webpage) but online services no. I've tried resetting the WLAN settings in the Amundsen, no luck. I even resetted the Skoda connect - so I had to reactivate the car. After that the Care connect re-appered in the Amundsen menu (and it's working) but no Online services in Skoda connect menu. And whenever I press on Skoda connect in the menu, it says No internet connection. Should I do something else or should I talk to my retrofit guy? I wrote here hoping that there is maybe an easier way...
  13. To ressurect this topic/question - the sellers on Ebay offering 32GB cards are knock-offs? I've seen most of them are from Latvia, price is relatively the same, but I thought to ask first then be sorry later
  14. Just to revive this topic: I also have a O3FL with DSG and MFSW but without the paddles. I lave the pre-FL wheel, with the "rounder" airbag cover (same for O3) and with the old style buttons on the MFSW (telephone button under the assistants button on the right) As I've seen when retrofitting the ACC, my buttons do not have the pins for connecting to dsg paddles if I want to swap the steering wheel so I need to buy another set of buttons with the connectors on the back. Can someone enlighten me on what to search of if there are 2 types of buttons (with or without the connectors for dsg paddles) ? Thanks
  15. Don't know it this helps after such a while, but have managed to add ACC to my car that already was factory fitted with FA. ACC works for speeds starting from 30 kmh, under that it gives a warning to brake (I suspect if I do nothing, FA kicks in, but I'm not eager to try ) For full ACC (stop car) a different ABS pump is needed and this becomes much more expensive and labor intensive. Parts needed: ACC compatible stalk + new cover under the steering column and some online coding / SWAP codes. I already had the proper steering wheel module. All is working, set distance, ACC is on and no errors. So, for factory fitted Front Assist card, this retrofit is relatively easy to do with someone that knows the entire procedure.
  16. OK, so the file posted from the Seat link is the latest one. I'll give it a try to see if it fits on the 16GB card (deleting the unnecessary language files). Thanks
  17. So, the files posted at the top here "EU_AS_STD_1810" (ECE AS(A1) 2022/23) are newer than on Skoda's website "STD2_1720_EU_A1" (ECE A12022, valid since CW45/2021)? If so, I'll download the file and give it a try on the 16GB Skoda card - I have an Amundsen unit.
  18. Also bought one (the non pro one)I'm , waiting to arrive - bought it mainly to adjust the steering response, make it RPM/speed dependant. I hate the default setting with the soft steering response (I don't have the driving mode selection option that would have allowed fot these changes). We'll see if I'll do other small tweaks like needle sweep a.o.- provided these are automatic and don't require long coding/etc.
  19. I've placed the car in front of a wall, started engine, headlights on Auto. Climbed in the boot and the light "line" went higher and did not go lower to the previously marked line. I hate going again to a dealer to check things... but unfortunately I guess I'll have to..
  20. To resurrect this thread, does anyone know if a faulty levelling sensor triggers a warning message? I'm asking this because, although 2 Skoda dealers have told me all is ok, I still feel that the headlamps are a bit higher (especially my right one - we drive on the right side). I also dis a short test and climbed in the boot and the light level got higher and did not seem to go down...
  21. Have used for a longe period rooftop bars on my previous car - always had issues with automatic carwashes. With Octavia I didn't think things and did not order the tow-bar and purchased compatible rooftop bars. But after 1 year of hearing the wind (car was much quieter than the previous one) I ended up selling the bars and installed a detachable tow-bar at the dealer. They stripped the interior a bit (driving side), put some controlbox in the boot somewhere and did all the coding. So I don't get any audible problem with parking sensors when bikes are in place, all is ok.
  22. Installed the latest version. Worked like a charm. @bigade1 for 2017 Skoda (FL) Amundsen is there a difference between choosing MIB2TSD and MIB2HIGH? I guess MIB2TSD is the right one for me (?)
  23. See here the details. Hope this clears things up.
  24. Don't think this is the one. As I can get info about my car - and honk&flash the blinkers from my app even if I'm miles away and no wifi connection available. The module in question is the VW OCU module - fitted on the card with Care Connect option
