If your Amundsen is connected to the internet via phone or data sim, you can update the maps directly to the unit via the online update screen in infotainment online as long as your data tariff allows (12GB for EU), else park near your home and log into your house WiFi first.

Octavia New 1.5 tsi ordered club
Lordch replied to fergiet's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I had no idea about the 3 month thing. I had a creak in the rear suspension when new but has now died down fortunately, esp as I’ll reach the 3 month deadline on Friday! -
1.4/1.5TFSi or 2.0 Tdi Estate???
Lordch replied to Cakemonster's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Great choice, it’s a nice car to own and use every day :^] -
As another view on this, I put the addresses in ŠKODA connect before leaving leaving the house and they show up in the car as soon as the WiFi connects - maybe 20 secs. The WiFi also brings the speedy traffic info so I get spoken traffic advisory info too before even turning left or right out of my road - good stuff. Didn’t plug my phone in either.

Coming to the end of my lease...

You can claim it all on the insurance, I did for mine, except for the kerbed alloys, not sure about those because I didn't need to claim for them luckily. I had Protected NCB and it hasn't affected my renewal premium, I pay the same as the new car as I did for the old one. -
Full LED vs Bi-Xenon headlights
Lordch replied to AMartinD's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
The LED headlights are very bright and reach a long way down the road, so I'm glad the auto-dip is also fitted. My only niggle is that on a road at night with lots of reflective signs, particularly the black and white sticks with a red reflector on top, there is a lot of light coming back at you which can be distracting. -

Get the Aliexpress app if you have suitable phoneware, it has built in order tracking, mine also said 28 days estimated at outset, but the tracking showed it on the plane in 2, landed in the UK in 4! -
When did Mirrorlink or Smartlink come in?
Lordch replied to Noz's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I never use it. Can’t be bothered to keep plugging my phone in. I just use the built in features quite happily :^] -

Comes with a tyre pump (with gauge in bar and psi) that plugs into 12v socket - there's one in the boot that's 'always on'. In addition there is a Tyre Inflation system' which is basically a valve removing tool and a bottle of gunk that you fire in to seal up any punctures. Presumably it's a temporary measure :^] -

Had mine 7 weeks and have occasionally noticed a niggle with the ride quality that’s all. Turns out the tyres came from the factory pumped up to the eco pressure (2.5 bar). Dropping that back to the ‘normal’ setting at 2.2 has improved it further and I was happy before. -
You have to open a door to get the handbrake on?

Post your Mk3 Octavia photos!

Plenty of people on here with non vrs variants by choice and very happy with them :^] -
Thanks - that’s a neat shortcut you’ve found anyway because loading those cards a folder at a time esp. if you have to convert the files is a draaaaag.
