Electric tailgate problem
My symptoms were the tailgate stopping part way and beeping. The wiring where it flexes is susceptible to breaks particularly in cold weather where the wires stiffen and become more brittle. Mine threw OBD codes related to sensors etc. Given the intermittent nature of your issues, my first guess is a partially broken wire. I would wager that a lot of struts have been changed for simple wire breaks as this is part of the strut component. Much cheaper to fix the wires. I replaced with silicon wire which is much more flexible in cold conditions.

Electric tailgate problem
I would look at the wires first as in the video you linked. That was essentially the same fault that mine was showing and I had one broken wire on one side and another about to go on the other. The wire is a weak point on these cars where it flexes. It may be something else but it is relatively easy to check and fix yourself if you are handy. Mine has worked fine since I fixed with silicon wire which is more flexible

Electric tailgate problem
Hi, Just thought I would share my experience on this issue with my 2016 L&K Superb. The boot would only open a small amount and beep three times and stop. It had to be 'assisted' to open and close. I looked into this on the net and found a lot of issues are with broken wires where the wiring goes from the top of the strut into the body. I ran my cheapo OBD2 diagnostic and there were a couple of error codes for faulty motor and hall sensors but I didn't know which side was flagging the fault. I removed the trim on one side, unplugged the wiring and removed the strut. Low and behold one of the wires was about to break but wasn't actually broken, only the outer insulation. Taking out the other side there was a thin blue wire broken. I removed the strut from the car and there was only about 5mm of broken wire protruding from the strut itself. I think dismantling the strut is a major operation I didn't want to do. With some careful soldering I added in some thin flexible silicon coated wire and covered with heat shrink. I also repaired the other side as it looked like it was about the break. Reassembled it all and it works fine again, I wonder how many struts have been replaced because of a broken wire in the loom. The wire is not very flexible and it broke on a very cold day. All in, about 30 mins work and almost zero cost. HTH

Ignition switch (w/ Kessy) restoration
Ordered mine from Skoda-parts.com but bear in mind this was before UK final exit so not sure on the VAT and shipping situation now.

Ignition switch (w/ Kessy) restoration
Replaced my switch this morning using these instructions. All went OK. I bought a new one (about £40) as didn't want to risk being stranded by breaking the old switch. Whole thing took less than 15 mins and was easier than I thought. I then dismantled the old switch and cleaned it which may now work better. It wasn't that dirty inside. Thanks for the pics, they really helped and saved me a few quid.
