  1. Hi, Has anyone found yet an Android Head Unit with a 9" 0r 10" Screen that will work with and show factory details such as TPMS ,Park Pilot etc. I have a 2018 Karoq with the original head unit screen problem which is playing up and would like to replace it. Is there a later and bigger factory screen which would just replace it ?.
  2. Ever since I have owned my 2018 Karoq with the 1.6 tdi engine and auto gearbox, it has ticked over at a steady 1000 rpm. Up until now it has always been serviced by my local Skoda Dealer. Now with 28000 miles on the clock I opted to have an MOT and Full Service at a local independant who has an excellent reputation. After the service the tick over is a steady 750 rpm. The local garage says that before service that there were no fault codes. The MOT was a pass with no advisories. They have no idea why it has changed. Does it make any difference what the rpm is or is one wrong.
  3. I have BRSK Broadband to my House in Sale, South Manchester. Now into 2nd year. I was with Virgin Fibre but they kept putting prices up by ridiculous amounts. BRSK put a flyer through the door and I checked specs and prices. I changed to BRSK and now have 500mbs at a price lower than Virgin. Very reliable and have had no problems. Virgin was only Fibre to the cabinet in the road but BRSK is Fibre to the Router. Regular speed checks show speeds of over 500mbps for downloads and just under 500 for uploads. BRSK is not in every area yet but a postcode search on their website will tell you if you are or perhaps when they will be. Hope this helps, Keith
  4. I have always used Peazip to download these maps for my Karoq and have never had a problem.
  5. I presume that as the Battery fitter had continuous power to the ECU when they swapped batteries that the ECU is fooled into thinking it is the same Battery. Ergo, no need for recoding.
  6. I have a CarStick LTE which I bought and has never been used and is still in unopened packaging. . If anyone wants to buy it send me a message. Keith
  7. I recently had an AGM Battery replaced on my 1.6 Diesel Karoq by a battery specialist in Stockport. They plugged something into the OBD port which was connected to a battery to maintain power to the Car. Swapped out the battery, disconnected the OBD device and off I drove. No coding required and no problems whatsoever with the Stop Start nor any warning lights since. Halfords don't know what they are doing.
  8. I had a new Battery fitted to my 2019 Karoq yesterday by Advanced Battery Supplies in Bredbury,Stockport. Bought the Stop/Start that they recommended, a Powerplus Stop Start Battery/5 years warranty/Higher cranking Amps. £119.95 fitted. No problems with coding. All done in 20 minutes. Ready for Winter.
  9. I have bought and hard wire installed a Dash Camera to my Karoq. Benefits are, Small reduction in Insurance Premium. Permanent record of driving in case of accidents. Visual and audible presentation of Speed Limit visual and audible warning of overspeed. visual and audible warning of all types of speed camera. visual and audible warning of common mobile speed camera locations. Free update of Firmware and Software for life. Check out the Aguri range of Dash Cams.
  10. I just checked the Map version in my Amundsen in the Karoq and it is V03959820MP. Which version is that ?. Keith
  11. I went outside to open my Car yesterday ( very cold and frosty). Pulled the door handle which normally just opens the car, nothing happened. Went indoors to get the spare fob, and opened the doors using that. Sat in the Car and pressed the start button, nothing. Car said key not present. Went back and got the other Fob. Still said key not present. Checked the batteries in both Fobs with a meter. Just under full charge on both of them. Walked to the shops and bought a new battery just in case. Recognised the Fob and started the Car. Tried the Fob that hadn't had the Battery changed and it was recognised. Weird or what.
  12. Thank you, I will give that a try later. Keith.
  13. On my Karoq, the direction of travel is shown on the info box between the speedo and the rev counter. On the Amundsen Display there is a compass which always shows which way North is. Is there any way to get that compass to show the same as the other display.
  14. A friend of mine bought a new Jaguar XE. After a while he began to hear a tinkling noise from the back of the Car when he was driving and it got louder on bumpy roads. I went with him to the local Dealer and when they heard what it was, they said they could fix it while he waited. They put a bit of rubber underneath the AdBlue bottle in the Boot. As the volume of AdBlue went down and it got lighter, it was jumping up and down in the carrier and making the noise. Miles and miles of road tests to find that out /. They did refill his AdBlue bottle FOC.
  15. Hi all, I have been looking on ebay for a 32gb map card to replace the 16gb in my Karoq 22018, I have found some that have the same number (275880) but one says 'symply clever and the other says 'simply clever.' Which is the genuine one ?. Keith.
  16. I have a 2018 Karoq 1.6 Diesel that has a louder and different engine noise from the drivers seat than standing outside listening to the engine being revved. How can i find out if this is the fake engine noise. Keith
  17. Is the Service Plan able to travel with the Vehicle when you sell it ?. Or does it just become obsolete. If it can travel it could be a good selling point or make the vehicle worth more.
  18. Thank you for replies
  19. Hi, In the last few days the rear Brakes on my 1018 Karoq with only 8000 miles have started making a groaning noise when the pedal is applied . but only when I am reversing. There is plenty of life left in the pads and very little sign of wear on the discs. I think that I have read somewhere that Skodas have had a problem with pad material in the past. Can anyone comment or offer advice as to solution. Thanks, Keith
  20. Hi, I have recently bought a 2018 Karoq SEL with a 1.5 diesel engine and so far I am really pleased with it apart from one thing. A pronounced induction roar which I initially found quite sporty has now become annoying, especially on long journeys. It seems to emanate from the Turbo area. Is there any way that some insulation can be introduced either in front of or behind the bulkhead to quieten it down. Thanks.
  21. Thanks for reply, I have been trying to find a list of optional extras for the car but with no luck. One of the things that I don't think that I have is automatic headlamp dipping so hoping that coould be installed.
  22. Hi, I have just bought a 68 reg. Karoq SEL, one owner and extremely low mileage. . I checked with my local independent VAG Garage what service packages he had and I will be talking my Car to him when one is due. He mentioned that while it was on the Computer that he might find facilities that are not currently enabled but that could be enabled Does anyone know what options he might find for me and be able to turn on.. Thanks, Keith
  23. After coming back to Skoda with a Karoq after a few years with another brand I have a question regarding the speed camera downloads for my Amundsen head unit. I have downloaded the data base and loaded it into the head unit and now find that there are 200 entries for red light cameras but seem th be none for other types of camera. Do I have to download the whole 200 entries which seem to have a different distance for each one . Any guidance welcome as I don't remember it being like this when I did it for the Octavia that I had. Any advice gratefully received.
