Finally found a sensible parts catalogue at https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/skoda It has entries for front doors L&R but rear doors are also split into saloon and combi (estate) so I think that means the fronts are common to both body shape. S.

Dau has wiped the passenger side of my 2017 1.6tdi estate down another vehicle on the M1 (all safe thank god). I'm thinking just replacing the doors might be cheaper than getting them mended & there seems to be plenty on eBay. Clearly, the rear door is specific to the estate but what about the front? Are the saloon & estate the same? I can swap all the internals inc wing mirror so I'm assuming trim won't matter, just the race blue paint code. Simon

Update: Emission warning light came again today on 10mile trip & has stayed on. Calling mechanic on Monday.

Delayed a day by Mum being a bit unwell. After chat with my home mechanic I bit the bullet & paid £60 for a diagnostic check in case there was anything serious. Among a whole list of stuff the likely culprits were a couple of Glow plugs, one active one passive and a passive Active Grill Air Shutter 'A' Suck On. All cleared and we drove home with none reappearing. As they were nearly all passive and I've a service due soon I'll probably leave it a week or two & see what happens.

Car is Octavia MK3 1.6tdi greenline 2016 with 100k miles. I drove 240 motorway miles Reading to York on Friday - regular trip to see aged parent - bit of traffic so averaged 77mpg @ under 65mph according to the trip. A few short journeys total 20 miles on Sat. Emission control light came on this morning & stayed on through similar short journeys as yesterday. I've seen some old threads re dpf regen cycles / run in sport mode but I'd have thought the trip up would have been sufficient to clear. I'm due to return home again tomorrow so: Do I need to get codes checked beforehand or do I give it a run home then let my local guy look. NB. The "Inspection Due" warning with mileage countdown expired yesterday so it now says "Inspect now!" Cheers Simon

Was thinking I might try seeing if I can bypass the switch to test if it opens, but it's a low priority task on my (v long) to-do list. Good luck.

'Fraid not but I'm coming to the realisation (bit slow these days) that the unlatch mechanism inside is separate from the lock mechanism. So the boot unlocks fine with the central locking but the latch isn't responding to the handle switch. Problem could be in the switch or the latch but as the latch responds to the key, maybe it's the switch. Need a bit more research. What do you think?

Found this thread after a 100 mile sticky pickup trip to Birmingham airport in 35degrees heat. Same symptoms of Aircon fading temp (ie warmer output) & reducing fan output although still working at full speed. Started about an hour into journey. The 15 min wait revived everything so it worked full blast as we set off but faded again. Did you get a resolution? Lots of technical info above went over my head. I've seen elsewhere suggestion that system is freezing up over time which would explain the fade & reduced output but I can't see a definitive solution. Is it just low refrigerant? S.

Hi, Bit late to the party but yours is the first report I've seen that's exactly the same fault as mine. 2016 model, had it since new and it always unlocked all doors & boot from key fob, top button. About a year ago it stopped unlocking the boot with the doors, I have to press the middle boot button which unlatches boot lid but doesn't unlock it. If you close the lid it's still locked & you need button press to release again. You said it was "main locking mechanism"; can you be more specific, please. I'm not getting much joy from dealer so any guidance would help. Any fault codes? What parts did you replace? Cheers, Simon
