I ordered a vrs earlier in the year but cancelled due to being offered a golf r for very similar monthly payments. I can assure you it isn’t just Skoda keeping you in the dark with information vw have no communication at all online chat has been removed the dealers get information once a week from the factory which you have to chase up as they don’t contact you. since my June order I’m on my fourth unconfirmed build date I’ve had to chase my arse trying to get that information each time as nobody tells you a thing. my most recent proposed date is feb 2022!

Dcc and blind spot were the options I’ve been told will delay the build even longer so I would be best to not have them ive fell out of love with the car before I’ve got it! To much of being messed around Also now in theory I’m getting a car I didn’t order in the first place so I spat my dummy out got refunded my deposit and now I’m starting again

I ordered my vrs in April in meteor grey but the order got messed up salespersons mistake then to be told I can’t have the colour as it’s discontinued I then had a build date of august in new chosen colour of hyper green and a few options ive now been told I can’t have some of my choices due to the chip shortage and the estimated build time is now October. ive now cancelled my order and staying with vag group got myself a fab deal on a new 2022 spec golf r

I’ve just sold the fiesta st performance edition 11 months old for a grand more than I paid for it to the dealer I got it from! I wanted the focus st estate but the price plus being told next year for availability kinda changed my mind im waiting for my octavia vrs to be built I’ve had different dates and different stages then it all changes so I’m expecting it maybe September to November? it doesn’t matter as we have my wife’s st and my work van so we can get around the octavia boot is massive and I have two dogs so that was a definite incentive for me plus the spec and price via car configuration sites made it a no brainer I also looked at merc cls estate but they had to many miles on the clock for the same price as the Skoda

If you cancel what are your options? will you get your deposit in full returned? what car would you want as your 2nd choice? if new would you not still be in the same predicament as you are now. my car has been put back ordered beginning of may told September for delivery now told December but I’m ok with that I have a work van and my wife has a car so no problem i guess it all depends on your personal situation it’s a global issue and has no quick fix

I’ve just sold the fiesta st performance edition (the orange one) which had coilover suspension it was a bit more passenger friendly over the standard st plus you could adjust manually the settings to your personal choice to fine tune I found it was a car that made me smile every time I drove it fast in corners and in a straight line or track day if your that way inclined i only sold it because I had an offer I couldn’t refuse from a dealer plus I needed something bigger as my circumstances had changed good luck with your search I don’t envy you with all the great cars out there,

If you are looking at purchasing another new car made to order you will be back at square one so maybe just stay put and wait for what will be a fantastic car (once the bugs and gremlins have all been sorted!) 😎

get a fiesta st or Toyota Yaris gr both corner like a house fly and go like the proverbial #*#* off a shovel not much boot space but horses for corses as they say

Hello John welcome aboard

My dealer told me there has been a fire in the factory where they make the chips and they are working 24/7 but at half capacity due to the machinery being out of action. On top of all the COVID and unpredictability our world is throwing at us. I ordered my vrs with a few bits in may and Skoda uk are predicting 1st week in November before I receive it! at least I specked the winter pack. 🥶

Did I read that correct? 450 miles! Wow where did you find that? that’s as rare as tartan paint. 👍

Wow.. thanks for thar dave2912 I think then based on that we all have no choice but to wait patiently with everything crossed and hope once we get our new pride and joy it doesn’t have a catalogue of problems! I hope you you do get the meteor grey I ordered it on mine and the dealer rang me to ask me to pick another colour. so… I know mamba green is in France and Ireland already it is being released here on June 21st it will be called hyper green so I ordered that instead..

Every car ordered by the dealer has been lost from the system? maybe the issue is the dealer. im waiting for my build date but it’s only been ordered two weeks so I will be happy if I get it for the new reg in September seems a pants scenario for you tho
