  1. Cheers, had the superb for 5 years so been on the site almost as long. Hopefully the octavia will last as long
  2. Hi folks, just jumped ship from the big brother forum (superb mk2) as I've sold my just-about-to-hit 200k elegance and bought a 14 plate 81k auto elegance octy. Hope I enjoy it as much as the big yin, but the spec on it was hard to pass over. The garage is getting the dsg oil changed before I collect it and the cambelt is good for another 20k so fingers crossed.
  3. Well that's it sold, hoping I'm gonna like the octavia as much as I liked the superb. Here's a wee pic of the new wheels, I'm going to nip over to the octy side now and say hello:-)
  4. Hi folks, after 5 years and nearly 100,000 miles of Superb ownership, with the odo less than 1k short 200k, I've decided to move away from the beautiful big bus and get something a little newer and less travelled. Which is kind of annoying me because I only had the timing belt and pump done about 4k ago, but other factors were in play. However, I'm only moving 'next door', as I've bought a 14plate octavia elegance estate 😄, with the dsg box and 81k on it, really good spec. Looking forward to the laziness of the auto box, but I'll miss the power of the 170 horses. Just got to sell the big yin now...not looking forward to that. Anyone looking to buy?😁
  5. Did it myself bud, just did the other one too
  6. I had a knocking sound recently, very quickly turned bad, top strut mount bearing had collapsed, had to get towed home.
  7. Hi petrolcan (or is that Jerry 🤔), there's more sensors involved in the no bend dance than the level sensors. I've had one of them disabled before and it didn't affect the car at all, didn't even register as a fault actually. I believe (from previous posts on this subject) that's there's around 3 different possible culprits, just would love to find their location...
  8. Reg is OV60RYW. What's Alldata?
  9. I've had the car scanned bud, but it was fairly inconclusive. It did say something about a possible sensor or possible bad earth, so was really wanting to know if anyone could point me in the direction of the sensor position, or where the earths are
  10. Appreciate your help bud, but defo not the level sensor. Rear one got knocked out a few years back after having some suspension work done, never got the no bend lighting message up, and didn't affect the level with such severity ( if i recall, lights stayed up a tad too high?) I'm hoping it's a bad earth, but finding where the damn earth is is a nightmare.
  11. Thanks for replying, but no afraid that's not the problem. The warning came and then the lights went into a get home mode, pointing right down, not really drivable. I had just got to work, and was able to manually adjust them up to an acceptable level. But really would like them fixed
  12. Hi, recently had an error message and loss of the no bend lighting function ( the wee lightshow dance on start up). Can anyone point to (better still provide a photo of) where the earths for the sensors are, and in fact where the sensors are located? I downloaded the service manual but it only shows the engine functions, as far as I can see. Thanks in advance
  13. Excellent, cheers mate 👍
