  1. Cheers, it did end up being the exhaust turbo actuator. I tried lubing it but it didn't work. Ended up buying a new actuator
  2. 65plt 1.2 tsi 8v cbzb decides to lose power occasionally, ive also noticed mpg slightly less than usual. Garage suggested it could be the MAP sensors, so ive cleaned them with contact cleaner. When removing the one at the back of the engine it has no screws holding it in place! Ive had the car 5years so dont know why these would be missing, so not sure if they have never been there or have worked loose? And wether this might cause an issue? Turbo actuator has also been mentioned but thats a dear-do in replacing so hoping the MAP sensor cleaning does the job.
  3. I had same noise (sounded like a donkey under the bonnet 🤣) going over speed bumps mainly. I changed my front ARB bushes and noise went away, for a week anyway! I used Delphi bushes, but after speaking to a couple of garages they've told me unless you buy genuine Skoda bushes you need to use rubber grease. I have since bought genuine bushes and await fitting. They already look like they are manufactured from a different material and have a white powdery coating on them. Presume it's a form of lubricant!?
  4. Brill, thanks just as I thought. So basically, provided it says either vw502 or vw504 (whichever I can get cheapest) I can use. I change oil at 8k intervals anyway. I just don't understand why the Skoda dealer told me it must be A3 spec?
  5. Hi all. Can anybody shed any light on oil? I bought my last oil from Skoda dealer and they sold me Castrol vw50200 A3 spec. However this year I've been looking at buying quantum oil and all I can find is vw50200 C3 spec Skoda manual lists vw50200, but at the bottom of the screenshot say C3 is for diesels. Or can vw502 / vw504 be used in either petrol or diesel? Thanks
  6. Thanks, I'll look into that. Mines a 65plt but the older 105bhp one, and i can't find setting in the car menus
  7. Don't know whats happened here!! Might seen a daft question but can the central locking key fob be reprogrammed? The amount of times i've pressed once to open the car for myself, then remembered i needed to be in the boot, but that hasn't unlocked. Or the when i walk to the car and want to put something on the back seat, press the button once. only opens the drivers door only. I swear, then press the button again, still only the drivers door!! swear again then press the unlock button twice in quick succession! Please someone tell me there's a way to change this, i want to press once to unlock all of the car's doors/boot. Hope that makes sense Thanks
