Monte Carlo Front Radar Fault

Featured Replies

Hi all, I'm looking at buying a monte carlo, during test drive it was throwing up a front radar fault.

The dealer has had a diagnostic done and it's come back at needing a new radar.

Too expensive to warrent replacing tbh, rather than the pop up being annoying Im presuming it won't have any impact on driving or MOT failure?

It doesn't have ACC, just speed limiter.

Ive prices ranging from 400-1300 for the repair

Any advice would be great, not sure wether to just walk away (as Im also thinking has been in a front end collision!)

It may be a MOT failure if there is a fault light in the instrument cluster indicating ADAS issues, as these systems are supposed to enhance vehicle safety.

The fault may be that the Front Assist radar requires recalibration and/or replacement of broken mounting brackets - these are very easily damaged, even in only a very light shunt!

From memory during test drive it was just coming up as a message on the HUD, not a fault light
