3G0857511AE is the frameless mirror and camera part number from the Golf, comes with the 8 pin plug already on it.
Is it a different part number if the car has the lane assist camera? -
I’m looking at getting my 2014 2.0 TDI remapped, what are people’s experiences? What sort of change would I expect?
The car has 58000 miles on it, would the remap risk issues given the mileage?
who have people used for the remap?
-
Yeah, it’s a 10 second change if you know what your doing. Think it’s Byte 19 possibly?

Have you installed the new USB port? If so you have to change a setting in 5F from USB to USB iPod for it to work

What are plugging in? IPhone by any chance?

Thanks mate I’ll give them a call in the morning,
Just be aware, after unlocking the stereo will work for a few minutes before losing functionality. It’s going to be a quiet drive home

Out of the four Skoda dealerships I’ve called up about component protection, one says it can’t be done, one says it costs well over £100, one says 40 but they can’t do it until mid July and one said they’d ring back in 10 minutes, that was 4 hours ago!
those of you that have had it done, where did you get it done and how much did it cost?
Is Swindon drive able for you? I know an independent that will do it for less than £50? Did mine with 4 hours notice.

I dunno, we need another car on the fleet to replace the Citigo and I want to buy this one outright with the proceeds of the Mercedes so I need to slow down on non essential mods 😞
Is there such thing as an essential mod?? 😛

I thought you were going to tell me there is a way retrofit the signal amplifier!! All the drop outs get very annoying!!

I already have that
Maybe
I haven’t watched it for years. Used to love Stephen Fry presenting it.
Sadly not. Skoda don’t support that.
Bladder trouble again? Must be age
It is in fact wireless charging, I’ve found a wireless charging phonebox on eBay very cheaply and I’ve sorted the coding today.
How did you get hold of the signal booster?? What did that involve?

Is there a way to get Google Maps from my Android Phone on the the Amundsen MIB2, without using Skodas Smart Link or what ever its called?
No sadly not, it is The Android Auto protocol that allows that to happen.

Oh yeah!!!! It’s finally sorted, a couple of adaptations and coding changes guided by the genius that is @pab567 I have finally got the map mode working and it is awesome So it’s confirmed that you don’t need a new CAN Gateway. Steering wheel controls next and fingers crossed it’ll be done.
So what does the CAN Gateway actually do??

Haha. I’m sure there’s no need, I am so close, it’s got to be something I’ll come across soon!
Looking like no Can Gateway needed then??

Saw an interesting sight this am. I stopped mid-roundabout to allow a white VRS saloon with a meteor grey VRS estate in trail, sirens and blue lights flashing behind the grilles, cross unimpeded. Once over the roundabout onto a 2 mile straight, they slowed, sirens and lights off and waited patiently in the queue at the next roundabout with me behind them and then pulled into a McDonalds. Looking at the number of passengers, I reckon they were on a driver training course and going for a brew and a debrief....unless there was a special deal at Maccies. Very glad I hadn't come up behind them up a bit earlier and taken up the 'challenge' on the fast A roads near us. Not sure where they came from, so if they were reasonably local and you fancy getting points on your licence in Lincs/Cambs/Notts just speed past a white 15 reg saloon or meteor grey 18 reg estate.
Funnily enough Maccies are doing a free cheeseburger offer all week!!

Hopefully it all works as planned!! How much is it going to cost to get to MIB 2.5?

I don’t want to jinx it, but I think I’ve fixed the fuel gauge issue! Range seems a bit out, but it’s starting to come back to normal (I hope!)
Ive been out in it and done 8 miles and it’s dropped from 2750 to 2120 so I hope it keeps dropping until it’s normal. At least there is no warning, for now!
How did you sort it?? Maybe no need for the MIB 2.5 stereo?
