Out of the four Skoda dealerships I’ve called up about component protection, one says it can’t be done, one says it costs well over £100, one says 40 but they can’t do it until mid July and one said they’d ring back in 10 minutes, that was 4 hours ago!

those of you that have had it done, where did you get it done and how much did it cost?

Is Swindon drive able for you? I know an independent that will do it for less than £50? Did mine with 4 hours notice.

    I already have that :)

    Maybe :D

I haven’t watched it for years. Used to love Stephen Fry presenting it.

Sadly not. Skoda don’t support that.

Bladder trouble again? Must be age :D

It is in fact wireless charging, I’ve found a wireless charging phonebox on eBay very cheaply and I’ve sorted the coding today.

How did you get hold of the signal booster?? What did that involve?

Gateways the CAN of course  I don’t know haha, it links the cars CANBUS systems up in some way.

Hey, nowt wrong with Olly! But I wanted something from the SD card on so I could check the image transfer was wiring while I was playing with the coding :)

I hate to ask, but what was the ballpark cost?

Oh yeah!!!! It’s finally sorted, a couple of adaptations and coding changes guided by the genius that is @pab567 I have finally got the map mode working and it is awesome B):inlove: So it’s confirmed that you don’t need a new CAN Gateway. Steering wheel controls next and fingers crossed it’ll be done.

Saw an interesting sight this am. I stopped mid-roundabout to allow a white VRS saloon with a meteor grey VRS estate in trail, sirens and blue lights flashing behind the grilles, cross unimpeded.  Once over the roundabout onto a 2 mile straight, they slowed, sirens and lights off and waited patiently in the queue at the next roundabout with me behind them and then pulled into a McDonalds. Looking at the number of passengers, I reckon they were on a driver training course and going for a brew and a debrief....unless there was a special deal at Maccies. :D Very glad I hadn't come up behind them up  a bit earlier and taken up the 'challenge' on the fast A roads near us. Not sure where they came from, so if they were reasonably local and you fancy getting points on your licence in Lincs/Cambs/Notts just speed past a white 15 reg saloon or meteor grey 18 reg estate.

Funnily enough Maccies are doing a free cheeseburger offer all week!!

I don’t want to jinx it, but I think I’ve fixed the fuel gauge issue! Range seems a bit out, but it’s starting to come back to normal (I hope!)

Ive been out in it and done 8 miles and it’s dropped from 2750 to 2120 so I hope it keeps dropping until it’s normal. At least there is no warning, for now!

How did you sort it?? Maybe no need for the MIB 2.5 stereo?
