adjustment for tyre size - fuel efficiency got worse
Thanks for your reply. These are all very good questions and I can't answer any of them properly. The new tyres are Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF 2. Tyre Size 235/40Y19 I don't think the "marketing size" is any different. I find these quieter than the previous ones and I'm relying on the odometer, I'm not measuring in any other way. I don't do much mileage (~3-4k a year) I tend to keep the pressure on the higher side of the limit indicated on the fuel flap and similar before and after. I had them rebalanced and checked after fitting. It could all be a false impression. Thanks, good to see those numbers. So the difference would be minimal in any case. I think the "tyre numbers" were the same before and after, the new ones are Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF 2 Tyre Size 235/40Y19 What's your decision mechanism for setting the pressures vs seasons and temperatures? Thanks, good intel. But it sounds like there's nothing to "adjust" in the car settings in any case?

adjustment for tyre size - fuel efficiency got worse
hi, about a year ago, I replaced the original tyres on a Superb L&K (I think they were PZeros?) with all season SF2. Rims are 19". These have a larger circumference than the original tyres. Indicated fuel economy has been quite poor since then. I'm wondering if some adjustment needs to take place to account for the larger circumference tyres? Any ideas why efficiency would show as worse than before despite the EU Tyre Label Info indicating it should be better? Thanks.

diamond cut alloy corrosion
Thanks, guess the answer is to find more local people to have a look, I don't have rim damage as far as I know, just similar type of lacquer peeling on the outer edge.

diamond cut alloy corrosion
Thank you for all the information, that's helpful. I've asked a local guy already and he said it needs a full diamond cut. I'm by North London. I see there's an Essex wheel doctor. I asked Maxpowder and they want close to £500.

Thanks Who did you use to fully refurb? Powder coating looks vastly different? How did you have the "worm removed"?

diamond cut alloy corrosion
hi, sorry I know there's a few threads on this but couldn't figure out a definitive answer. Anyone have any luck recently getting wheels replaced by Skoda? 67 Superb in my case. Otherwise it seems have to go to a refurbisher to correct this by powder coating? I saw a recommendation for Lepsons and Rim Tech Designs. Thanks

small scratch on windscreen - polish it out? Glasweld/Superglass
In the end, I went for a polish with Glasweld. Seems ok, I haven't noticed any negative impact. Glasweld seems to just be some "loose branding" with independents affiliating themselves to it, so YMMV.

Closing the tailgate / boot with the remote
Maybe the distance aspect is what I'm missing because can open from any distance, will try again, thanks.

Closing the tailgate / boot with the remote
Hello, sorry if this is a dumb question, but how are you meant to close the boot with the key? It doesn't seem consistent. Do I just press or press & hold? Sometimes I'll press and it does nothing, sometimes I'll press it starts beeping then stops, then I try again, nothing happens and sometimes it just beeps and closes. Thanks

small scratch on windscreen - polish it out? Glasweld/Superglass
Thanks. So the system can detect there's a problem after the glass has been replaced? Thanks, can't feel it at all.

small scratch on windscreen - polish it out? Glasweld/Superglass
Agree with you, but the original is made by Saint Gobain, and when I called Autoglass, they said it would be an unspecified OEM but up to the same specs. Not very convinced.

small scratch on windscreen - polish it out? Glasweld/Superglass
hello, looking for some advice please. Had something under the windscreen wiper that resulted in a light 25cm scratch directly in front of the driver line of sight (67 Superb). The scratch is so light, it's very hard to spot from outside the car, it can be seen from inside the car depending on the lighting outside and it's very hard to take a picture of. It's a heated windscreen. I've looked at a few options 1. asking insurance to replace the windscreen, but they'll probably not use an original part, and concerns about leaks if not fitted correctly 2. have someone polish it. I've asked Glasweld and Superglass and the people I spoke to, said they can do it. Concerns are: any "lens effect" after polishing and any impact on the ADAS. Even though the scratch isn't near the rear view mirror, they will likely polish half the windscreen. Since the scratch is so light, I'd expect there not to be an impact to structural rigidity. 3. Get it replaced at a Skoda main dealer. Any thoughts on either option and anyone have any experience with Glasweld or Superglass? Thank you.

Does Tyre Pressure Monitoring system display pressure values anywhere?
But if it doesn't remember anything, what's the point of "setting" it via the settings? Also how does it work with different front vs rear pressure?

To Canton or not to Canton - that is the question?
Easy to tell if the sub is there, you can open the side compartment in the boot. You can definitely tell it's present by listening as wel and adjusting it in the settings. Canton is good, but you need a good source for it as well. CD or high-def from your phone via USB (not Bluetooth).

Does Tyre Pressure Monitoring system display pressure values anywhere?
hi, so mine went off once when 3 wheels came off for refurbishing, so I was happy it worked. Therefore I didn't actively think about inflating my tyres regularly, as I assumed it would notify me. I checked recently and they had all gone down from 2.7~3 bar down to 1.9-2 over time and the TPMS hadn't indicated anything, is this normal? Does it do some sort of recording when you set the pressures initially? I have rear at 3 and front at 2.7. Thanks.

Help Needed - Best Rest Seat Covers?
Hi, bought this direct from Skoda, it has slits for Isofix and it comes down well enough at the front. https://www.theskodashop.co.uk/collections/skoda-child-seats/products/protection-mat-for-under-child-seat It has a textured bottom, so I put some tea towels underneath to avoid any patterns on the leather, and some tea towels behind the car seats as well as it doesn't go very high.
