  1. You make a good point here. Mine is a similar hp from a Pendle custom remap. My other yeti 170hp to 203hp doesn’t make the same noise but as you say this may be down to they way the torque is delivered. The car is booked in on Monday to have it looked at and if it does need a new DMF then so be it I guess.
  2. So do you think it’s the sound of stress on the DMF and just to change down earlier?
  3. I thought of that but I can’t see any other symptoms, no juddering or anything
  4. Thanks, this is fantastic advice, this is why I love this site. I haven’t noticed any oil drips but to be honest I haven’t looked and it’s been very wet here recently so it’s possible. I haven’t had the car long and it’s booked into a garage for a haldex oil change at the end of the month, I hope the box is ok though as the thought of a new one frightens me.
  5. Good evening all, I have a 2012 110 4x4 with a six speed manual that is making a concerning noise. When accelerating in a high gear at low speed (mainly 5th and 6th) I am getting a grinding noise coming from the front of the car, once I change down it’s fine and no noise. The car seems to be going into gear fine and no other noises and is smooth. Has anyone else had this issue or possibly shine some light on it? Thanks as always.
  6. Yes I agree, i always get paranoid when I have a new car for a few weeks until I get used to it. Everything else seems good with thought apart from a little noise when you’re in too high a gear at lower speed. I’m not sure what that could be, might even be related.
  7. Thanks so much! I thought it might be the case, I will get that sorted at the end of the month. Thanks again
  8. Good evening all! I currently own 2 yetis, the first a 2014 2.0tdi 170 and the second a 2012 2.0tdi 110. The 2014 yeti is so good we decided to replace our other family car with the 2012. However I brought the 2012 car privately and on the way home the eml came on (I was not amused) after taking it to the local dealer they diagnosed a throttle position sensor that they then fitted. The car seems to be driving fine, as it was before, but it seems to shut off rather harshly when you turn the car off. It did this before and I’m wondering if it’s the throttle body itself needing cleaning. The car has has a remap by a very good local turner (the same on that has also remapped my other yeti) about six months ago. My question is do you think the throttle position sensor will have sorted the eml light for good or will it raise its head again if the throttle body isn’t cleaned? sorry for the long question. cheers
  9. Good afternoon all. I'm having issues with water filling the spare tyre space on my 2011 elegance estate. I have looked through other threads but it seems they have sunroofs and mine doesn’t, so I’m a bit stuck. As you can see from the pictures attached (sorry for the mess, I think it’s was a bit of a workhorse prior to my ownership) it looks like the water is coming in from the right. In the other pic you can see the rear light cluster and that seems to have the little plastic bits that cover the screws missing, could this be the answer? Ive had the rear trim off and can’t see where it could be coming in. Im at the point where I might drill a few holes in the tyre well to let it drain, as it makes he car musty, but before I do that I was wondering if I had missed something? Any help appreciated
  10. Have a look at Milta technology not very far from you and brilliant on anything dsg
  11. Mine had a similar issue. Full service history but never had any dsg service and it had done 143k! As soon as I got it, I took it straight to the main dealer and got them to change the oil and filter. The gearbox seems fine and shows no errors. A dsg specialist told me that the box was in great shape and is working perfectly, so I think the oil change was a good move. The main dealer seemed to give a price that my local independent couldn’t match. It may be worth them doing a dsg reset via their system just to make sure it’s working silky smooth! as for service I would find a good independent and service every year regardless of mileage
  12. I don’t think that’s it's the starter motor, it’s almost like an electrical cut out or fuel cut instantly after it’s fired up??
  13. Seems like they are the tyres I need, my 18s seem to crash a bit and make a bit of a din, currently on Bridgestone.
  14. Mine has 146k on it and has only had 1 dsg service 1k ago. I have also had it looked at by a leading dsg specialist who told the gear box is in great condition and the clutches are fine. As mentioned before if it’s been serviced I would worry.
