  1. In my case I wanted all the logos on just to make it look nice, then discovered I couldn't. Ok, I can live with that. The bit that annoys me is that the handbook says you can upload to the unit and shows you how, but you can't because it can't do what the handbook says. Just update the handbook and take all reference to it out and effectively this gripe goes away

  2. I had a similar issue and had a whole new unit fitted under warranty which fixed the problem until yesterday. What appears to happen is the SOS message flashes up and nect time you stop and start the car it says loading profile and just hangs rendering the unit useless. Has happened twice more today. I'll be on to Skoda in the morning as I don't have the willpower to do it now and listen to them telling me it's not a problem

  3. I was in an accident last week which put a big dent in my front nearside wing. This has now been replaced along with the foglight under the insurance but it's come back with the SOS warning light still on which would have been a result of the prang, not the traditional error.

Does anyone know if there's anything I can do to reset it to save going back to the garage?

  4. I've got it but I don't need to be using Android Auto for it to happen. Happens almost every day. I've taken it to the garage who are aware that there are issues (possibly a RAM problem) but don't have a fix.

    This says to me that

    1) Skoda know they have a problem but don't know how to fix it

    2) Skoda know they have a problem and are working hard to fix it

    3) Skoda know they have a problem but can't be bothered to fix it

    4) Skoda are in denial that they've got a problem

My guess is somewhere between 3 and 4.

Not blaming the local garage as they've always been excellent, but having owned Skoda's for quite a few years now, the customer service aspects from head office have gone right downhill

  5. My oil warning has come on. As I am technically inept when it comes to engines, what I've found so far makes no sense to me.

So my question if someone can help me....if I go to the garage to get some oil to top it up, which one/grade or whatever it's called should I get?

    Thanks!

  6. Just a quick question.

What temperature would you expect the Scala to show on a motorway run at a steady 70mph (ok, ok....80)?

Around town when warmed up mine usually shows 95 degrees but noticed today it was up to 102/103 degrees on the M40 o a run and it was only about 19 degrees outside. Hadn't noticed it being that high before.

    Should I be concerned?

Having downloaded the logos from the internet on to a memory stick (jpg), here is how to add the station logos

That's how it worked on my Octavia. The point that is being missed is that now you do exactly that but absolutely no option to upload from USB is available, meaning that you can't do what you used to be able to do (i.e what you're showing in the video)

  8. It's a 69 plate with Amundsen which received s/w updates about 10 days ago but it didn't help. If you look at VolkanB's video on the page before, the issue is identical to that although it's not an issue to Skoda, they've just inexplicably taken the function out and aren't interested in explaining why. Customer services had no interest and the local dealer couldn't believe Skoda had done it either.

Thanks for the educational video the issue is that for a part of the devices the Station Logos option does not appear in the menu...

Yes, that's the issue. What is on the video is EXACTLY how it used to work on my old Octavia but you just can't do that now on the new software as Zoharin says.

  10. No, just tried it again exactly as you said.  Don't get that option to upload from a stick whatever I try.

    Settings

    Station logos

    Select the station I want

It says please select a station logo

There's nothing there and no option to select usb.

Just a no station logo at the bottom

If I press that it goes back to the station list

So, No idea why mine is different to yours!

I did another three this afternoon!

Seems that I need to be able to receive the station for it to work, so added logos for BBC 3, 4 extra and 6 but as I live in the sticks could not add Heart FM or Classic Gold

Tattoo Settings had a Manage Logos in sub menu

Would love to see a video of what you're actually doing to see what's different if you get the chance

  12. I've got 3, 4 Extra etc on the radio hard drive so have no issue with those. It's the ones with no logo for example Radio X. No matter what you do you can't upload it. I'm not sure what you meant about Tattoo Settings, but when I go to Manage Logos there is no option to upload from USB

  13. I just tried that and absolutely no joy. I have exactly the same issue in exactly the same way as VolkanB, so @HareLaw.....what are you doing different or what behaves differently from VolkanB's video for you so you get it to work?

  14. This is not really a help, but I've had a similar problem in my Scala with Amundsen.

Not able to upload radio logos via stick to the 9.2” Amundsen.

The user guide says you can do this but you can’t via USB.

I contacted Skoda Support who told me that I could upload it via SD card. I pointed out that the car doesn’t have an SD slot.

They then told me that there was no need as the images reside on an internal drive. I pointed out that a load of logos are missing or some that get assigned are plain wrong – completely different station.

They then told me that the incorrect logos would be sorted in a software update which I thought was just fobbing me off. I’ve had 2 software updates since I spoke to them and it hasn’t been fixed.

I spoke to them again. Still absolutely no resolution and no explanation for not being able to upload (that probably annoys me most) but this time they added that they don’t have licensing for some logos. I reminded them that these logos aren’t missing on one of the company Octavia’s. They moved on swiftly and asked me if there was anything else they could help me with? Yes. Are you going to update the user guide to show that you can’t do this? Still waiting for a response on that. To sum up, no help at all.

I contacted the branch I bought the car off and they can't understand why USB upload has been taken out and why a load of images that sit on the hard drive are missing or wrong.

Whole thing is a shambles and the customer services side has really gone downhill

  15. Probably no revelations or nothing anyone hasn't heard before but here goes.....

I’ve had the Scala SEL around 6 months now and thought I’d report back on what I think.

Over all, I like the car a lot but there are a few things that annoy me. I’m just going to list these, and a few of them are personal preference. Assume that everything else about the car is great.

Drivers seat. Can get a bit uncomfortable on a long journey. I wish it was a bit more padded.

Drivers seat. The back always seems to move by a few degrees from journey to journey so I always have to pull it up a little bit.

Lane detection. Hate it and personally don’t think it’s that safe. The first thing I do is turn it off. I wish I had the option to disable it on start up in settings. I understand it’s needed to get some sort of certification for Skoda. I’d argue that it’s not my problem!

Having to go on the main screen to change heater settings. Ridiculously badly thought through.

    No wireless Android Auto.

Not being able to upload radio logos via stick to the 9.2” Amundsen. A minor thing but drives me mad.

The user guide says you can do this but you can’t via USB.

Spoke to the local Skoda garage. They understood to their credit and said it drives them mad too but there’s no solution and they can’t understand for the life of them why it’s been taken out.

One wish. Being able to get Google Maps/Waze on the dashboard display as although adequate, I think Google maps are better than the Skoda satnav.

But, other than that – and these are minor in the grand scheme of things, I love the car.
