2024 Kodiaq (and Superb) interior photos :)
FrankLK replied to simonharper's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKII (2023- )
For now things I like: possibility to get double glazed windows, big panorama, AGR seats with cooling(massage maybe), heated seats rear, there is still double glove box and adjustable hand rest, 7 seats, fwd isofix points, head up display, big engine and 4x4, manual climate controls, rear window shades, dsg lever at least is not that big ugly thing like before. I actually like interior more that superbs. But they did some cost saving on rear doors unlike on Suberb. -

How much I know it is confirmed and it will not be PHEV, but why 270HP when that engine can be boosted to 300 or more? But then why to buy Cupra or Tiguan, isn't it? At least it should get decent exhaust system. The price step up is significant for vrs. -

Well, we will see is the new vrs getting rear diff, brembo brakes or stiffer antiroll bars. -

Thanks for replying, so as I was thinking, engine is the only major technical difference, other is just cosmetics and actually plently fake cosmetics which I don't like. If 200ps is enough, Sportline is the one for me. -

What is the technical diff. between current vrs vs sportline, engine is one thing, dsg different?Any diff. on differential and suspension?Brakes are larger but nothing special. Scout version is slashed, vrs probably, but is vrs even worth waiting? -
Upgrading brakes with same disc size?
FrankLK replied to FrankLK's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I was never impressed with standard TRW brakes so now I'm looking for upgrade, EDC yellowstuff? No track use. -
Upgrading brakes with same disc size?
FrankLK replied to FrankLK's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
The more I read more EDC looks bad.I have some people driving on greenstuff and for them they are better than OEM. My first choice was Brembo xtra line, I think I can't miss with that. OEM TWR rear have issues with pad return, already serviced that but it looks like problem is coming back. For sure I was more happy with TWR than ATE. -

Upgrading brakes with same disc size?

Yes you are right, disc is less important. I found only at EBC big variety of pads depending on the use. And yellowstuff looks like stuff for me, 30% more friction with low dust. -
Upgrading brakes with same disc size?
FrankLK replied to FrankLK's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
After searching info on internet these are my findings: Drilled- better cooling, less weight, better gas and water expelling but more noisy, easier to crack, more wear, price higher Slotted- less noise, better cold grip, less wear and dust, no danger of crack, price lower but less cooling and gas expelling So for road use it looks that slotted are better choice, I want grippy, silent, reduced dust brakes. For tyres I always choose UHP and now I drive on Potenza Sport so ABS doesn't kick in easy😉 So I don't drive track but not like a granny😁 Last time in garage they installed ATE brake pads, not really impressed. Thanks for tip for brake hoses, that I didn't consider, does it make a difference? -

Road only, no track, originals are from TRW but on hard braking I would like some more performance. According info I can find on internet, slotted discs are for track and drilled for road. Yes, 1.8tsi has 312mm in front. -
Soon I will have to replace front brake discs so I was wondering to upgrade brakes with Brembo drilled discs.Did somebody did this and is the improvement noticable? I'm not interested in big brake kits.

FrankLK replied to R1100's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
For sure Octavia is bad choice if you are driving a lot on motorway.
