You need a diagnostic done, and may need to get codes reset to see which come back

Hi, A few years ago I changed from my 2009 diesel Octavia to a 2017 petrol superb, one factor was how noisy the diesel was. Am considering going back to an Octavia as the boot on the non phev is nearly as big as the superb but running costs will be better. I'd be grateful to know how noisy/quiet the newer diesels are compared to the petrols? Thanks, Mark

You may need to get the codes reset, then see which one it is with the light comes back on, if there is more than one error
-
Hi, Yes, turns out it was the Lambda (oxygen) sensor. After resetting the errors it was this code that twice returned, Mark
-
Yes, 2.0 TSI. P22700 LAMBDA SENSOR (Bank1, Sensor 2), but I'd also need to buy kit to reset the orange light - is that expensive?
-
Thanks both, much appreciated. Off to a garage.....
-
Hi, Was wondering what a sensible price should be to replace this, and if it could be done myself (although that would mean buying kit to reset the orange light)? Thanks, Mark
-
I'll give that try when back to the car (bonnet), thank you

I could call the AA, not sure if it counts as a breakdown but would get diagnostic then
-
Thanks for the reply. Serviced annually, light just came on. Only unusual thing is that had been sitting with ignition on for lunch beforehand. E10, most recently BP.

This has come on, manual says it's about emissions rather than engine. Power unaffected. Is it an urgent fix?
