DSG oil change

Featured Replies

Hi,

Car is 2016, 86k. Last DSG oil change was at 44k.

Dealership quoted £280 which seems too high so I've declined that!

Wondering what is a reasonable price, and how important it is to get this done. Likely to be keeping the car for 2-3 years.

Thanks,

Mark

£280 is very reasonable

280£ is reasonable; however, with my Octavia Scout 5E with the 2.0 TDI 184 bhp, the DSG oil change is mandatory every 60k km around 37k miles. Be careful because it can determine the life of the gearbox, and you will feel it in the not-smooth gear changes.

Yeah, that’s a good price, well, from a dealer. I think I paid around that two years ago from VAG specialist, but they cleaned the filter properly, sent before/after pics.

DSG, Change filters when there is a filter.

(This is not the Haldex.)

@Jack25 They are the same DQ250,s or the same as a Audi s-Tronic 6 speed wet that Audio says needs servicing at 38,000 miles.

The life of the DSG is not really determined by the 3,000 miles difference shown with their EU / European use of metric.

All that is different is VW Group and not giving the km conversion to miles as others might well do if they were not being stupid..

Kilometers @ 60,000 and when given in Miles @ 40,000

Thanks all, I actually changed my mind and did it yesterday whilst I was there. The only thing I hadn't factored in was how long it would take as they had to let it cool down!

Ps car driving noticeably better now👍🏻

Going to add for a dealer that's not a bad price, my local indie was £205 for the oil and filter.
