  1. I've just done it, 7mins after turning the engine off. The oil is about 3/4 up within the range it's supposed to be. So now I'm just concerned about the measurement at cold, but perhaps I shouldn't be as the manual makes no reference to this? Thanks for all your advice so far.
  2. I think I was measuring at the wrong time - I had previously done it when the engine was cold, not when still at running temperature. I got a much lower reading when the engine was hot and topped up accordingly yesterday. Now that the engine is cold again the reading is over the max marker but would I be right in thinking that's fine?
  3. Thanks for replying. It's slightly above halfway between the markers.
  4. Hi folks, I have a 1.5TSI SE Octavia, 2019. Recently I've had the 'check oil level' message and warning, after a short drive, and mid-way through a long drive. I've checked the levels several times recently, including after waiting for the oil to settle after driving, and it seems fine. The act of checking with the dipstick somehow seems to make the warning go away for a short while but then it comes back. I've had issues in the past with it using more oil than it should, so I keep some of the correct oil to top up when needed. Otherwise I do get it serviced on schedule. I only do about 8k miles per year. Does anybody have any ideas as to what might be going on? Cheers!
  5. Hi all, does anyone have experience using raised rail feet for Cruz AIRO roofbars (like this) https://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel4_tab.php/all-products/cruz_fix_raised_rail_feet_4_feet_no_930_800/Qx%40w%2C6M4PHS%2CZGenkQvENMZ5J%40 I had the bars for my old Fabia but that didn't have roof rails. Wondering whether adaptors will do the job or whether to buy new bars that are specifically designed to attach to rails. Thanks in advance!
  6. Poorly glued craft by my kid, set down on the dashboard!
  7. I think this is probably what has happened as the rattling has stopped! So I won't intervene until the filter needs changing. (My first step was otherwise going to be attaching some hose to the end of my hoover.)
  8. Thanks to everyone for their advice! I was on holiday when this happened so I'm looking forward to testing some ideas this weekend. Will post an update.
  9. Issue as described! I can hear it sliding from side to side if I corner at some speed. No other issues but it's annoying. I've tried fishing with a straw to see if I can locate it, no luck. Changing where I direct the air hasn't made a difference to its location. How can I retrieve this - will my local garage have a solution?
