  1. I've just spent 25 minutes on the phone to Skoda UK trying to find out the last manufacture date of the Skoda Octavia Scout. They couldn't tell me but eventually created a "query" to be sent to the Skoda Brand Support team so they could, in turn, contact (in Germany) the Product Team. Apparently I will get an email in 48 hours. You'd think this basic information would be available to the Customer Support team - but it seems not! I'm interested to know if anyone has this information i.e. the date that the last Skoda Octavia Scout was rolled off the line for the UK market.....
  2. thanks again for the advice - really helpful - I'll order up LX3503 and I'm going to order a new blower too. I think I should be able to follow this:
  3. Thank you again, that's great. Yep I have MARK III - 110 KW. Type: 5E ACCRMBX1 varient. You couldn't recommend an air filter could you? I'm sure probably all pretty standard. Also...., I spent over a grand £ last year trying to get my heating sorted out with my local garage. They got it working but doesn't heat up nearly as quickly or get as hot as it did before the problem. It also came back from the garage very weak! I.e. you have to turn it right up for it to blow properly. Have you heard that this might be a fault with the Octy?
  4. I'm just ordering a Mahle filter which has the correct OEM number 03N 115 562B and stock number OX 787D When I messaged the site to double check it was correct, they said they couldn't confirm that it was!
  5. thank you. I'll see if I can locate a Mahle/ Knecht filter as per your recommendation
  6. I've been recommended 5W 30 FULLY SYNTHETIC LONG LIFE QUANTUM OR CASTROL VW 507 00 - 5LT (BUT REQUIRES 4.5 LT). Really want to make sure I use a decent a possible oil and filter. Any further recommendations appreciated.
  7. thanks - I thought I'd read the entire thread so just went back but can't find the link you mention. Sorry I still find the site tricky to navigate! (As I read the posts again the coolant warning light coming on was mentioned a few times. I've just realised that this is the case with my Skoda. It came on about 7 months ago. Topped it up, all seemed fine. Then it came on about a month ago. Topped it up, 2 weeks later heating isn't working.... I guess what I want to try and do is rule out something more simple like a fuze or air lock. Just before the heating went I plugged in a trailer electrics - that a bulb blew and the heating stopped working. Is that a co-incidence?
  8. How did you get on with this in the end....? I've got a 2015 Mk 3 Skoda Octavia Scout. The heating seemed to stop working about a fortnight ago but intermittently has blown out warmish air. I'm trying to work out the best process so I don't get stung with a huge bill for replacing the matrix. Any idea where I should start? I could start by checking for air locks but am not sure if it's a self bleeding system. Next I could flush the coolant and replace maybe? I could also replace the reservoir (which might have the silica bag in it.... finally I guess I have to take it to a garage and undoubtly part with serious cash to get the heater matrix replaced!
  9. Saints92 - did you ever solve your problem with the heating? I seem to have the same problem with my Octavia Scout. I used a trailer last week, plugged in the electrics, (I think but can't be absolutely sure) the heating stopped working properly after this. Could a fuze be a problem?
  10. I have a Skoda Octavia 3 Scout 2Lt (2015). The other day I hooked up to a trailer and plugged in the electrics. I noticed the day after than a front bulb had blow and the heating wasn't working. Could this be related or is it a complete co-incidents? If it is blown fuzes is there a fuze panel anywhere? Could the heating be a fuze? It's not cold, its just very luke warm. Any advice gratefully received.
  11. Hi there, for some reason a couple of mechanics at Skoda garages seem to be saying that the oem part is Sachs - but I don't think this is correct.  The Skoda part number is: 5Q0413023GN

Is there any way I can find out for sure what shocks my Skoda Octavia Scout actually came with from new or is that nearly impossible!?
