  1. I'm in the UK and I've just ordered a new L&K and dealer estimated 20 weeks to delivery. Went on to say that in their experience delivery times are falling so every chance it'll arrive earlier than predicted but no guarantee of course.
  2. Impatience and desire to get that new car feeling if I'm totally honest! I still like my Sportline Plus but I haven't had to put a car through an MOT for over 40 years and I've got a bit of a psychological block about it, ridiculous I know. I'm only 2 and a bit years into a 4 year pcp but when I last checked I can swap for a new L&K (not the 280) for only £15/month more than I currently pay which seemed good to me. The more snippets I see about the Mk 4 the less enamoured I am, especially as I fear the on the road price is going to add a significant amount to my monthly payments making it unjustifiable. I am tempted to go for a radical change in colour, anyone seen the Royal Green with tan leather? Very different from anything I've had previously but I fancy a change!
  3. Thanks for that Surrey John. I saw another article in the past couple of days, unfortunately can't remember where off the top of my head, that stated with a lot of conviction that the mk4 specs and prices would be released in November 23 which is in line with the previously announced fall launch. They also suggested prices for the superb range would start at £35k although that's a guess I imagine. I want to change my May 21 280 sportline before its 3rd birthday which is likely to be too soon for the first mk4s to reach the uk. Furthermore I'm right at the top of my budget now and the anticipated price increase will push me way over the top. Didn't want to settle for another mk3 but beginning to look like I've not really got a choice.
  4. I was about to sign to swap my 2 year old Sportline 280 for a less powerful L&K but backed out when I read about the mk4. Now I'm concerned that the new variant will be silly money and I'll be priced out of the market. Tempted to see if dealers are offering good deals on the mk3 in the uk although at the moment it appears they know no more than us about the new model, specs price etc
  5. Given all the uncertainty I think I'd best just put the whole car changing idea on hold until things become a little clearer. Naively I thought there'd be a well organised plan for shifting from the mk3 to the mk4 but if there is it seems to be a well kept secret and it could be months before there's certainty. I fear prices will rise but my 280 sportline with only 12000 on the clock seems to be doing OK trade in wise and my pcp is slowly building up some equity. Must try to be more patient!
  6. But it's widely reported that the mk4 will be launched in the autumn. They surely don't build mk4 and mk3"s at the same time so production of the mk3 must stop before the the mk4 is launched later this year. If it's still taking an age to deliver what happens if they stop production of the mk3's before they get around to building mine?
  7. You seem to be suggesting I should hope I get the current version! There's only speculation at the moment about the coming tweaks. I'm not overly fussed about the external appearance but there is a suggestion that the infotainment screen might get changed for a bigger one that isn't integrated like the current one. The deal I've been offered is a cracker so perhaps I should stop worrying so much!
  8. Well it's all very concerning! I can see that it's a bit strange taking an order when there's every likelihood the price and spec will change before the car is even built! Bottom line is unless I get some cast iron guarantees tomorrow I will back out and get my deposit back, nothing has actually been ordered yet.
  9. Yeah, getting a bit nervous about it now! Dealer said he couldn't order any more old ones in conversation. I've texted him to make it clear that I only agreed to proceed on basis that I'd get a new one. He's speaking to the vehicle supply people tomorrow so should get clarity one way or another. Order not yet placed but I've paid deposit on basis of what he said.... My impatience/excitement often gets the better of me unfortunately! Manufacturers relaunch their models all the time so there must be an established sequence of events to get around the changeover particularly these days when there's practically no stock and waiting times are quoted as 6 months plus?
  10. As title says, I'm just finalising a deal to swap my 280 Sportline for an L&K but I've seen that Skoda are due to launch a revised version of the Superb in the autumn. Dealer is quoting 6 to 8 months for delivery and has said on phone that they are no longer able to order the "old" version. Does this ring true or should I press for certainty, I'm in no rush to change and obviously would prefer the very latest variant. Ta
  11. Hi. Thanks for the responses. It's actually a brand new 280 Sportline but because they are in such short supply I wasn't able to select options, had to accept it as built. I'm coming from a 2018 L&K 280 which was pre-registered so again I didn't get to select options for that one either. Fortunately the toys that I've lost going from the L&K, such as self parking, electric front passenger seat and TSR were of little value to me personally, and in the Sportline I've got the VC, Canton and a rear camera to play with instead. I have finally figured out how to customise the Home screens and have got the Speed signs displayed there so that will do me! It was just bugging me a bit that it should be an option to display the Speed signs in the VC but hey ho. Thanks again
  12. Title should be self explanatory but to elaborate, I have succeeded in getting the speed signs to display on the Columbus Navigation screen but am unable to find a way to feature them at all on the virtual cockpit. This seems to me to be such an obvious thing that a driver might want to configure that I'm wondering if I'm missing a trick, although I've looked everywhere. Lots of posts on this site about problems with TSR and displaying these signs but I don't have TSR and wonder if that's the root of the problem. So to satisfy my curiosity can any owners of Sportline Plus models with a VC but no TSR please confirm what's possible and what isn't! Many thanks
  13. I picked up my brand new sportline plus 280 on Thursday. In Race Blue and looks brilliant, lovely change from red l and k that went in part ex. Came with canton, virtual cockpit, rear camera, heated wheel and seats. Well happy
  14. Blimey, what a roller coaster ride I've been on since making my last post! After signing up to swap my L&K for a new Sportline I sat and waited for the dealer to come back to me to complete formalities. After a few days I'd heard nowt so contacted them by phone, left message for salesperson. Got an email back saying good news and bad news. Bad news is we can't get the car we'd sold you, good news is we've found another very similar spec but it'll cost you £50 per month more. You can imagine my reaction. Expressions of anger etc to dealer and complaint to Skoda UK got me nowhere so took my business elsewhere. Every dealer I rang said same thing, no new 280 sportlines to be had. However, the dealer nearest to me found one somewhere down south and thought they'd be able to do a swap, After biting my nails for the past 10 days I've today got confirmation its on its way and I will get the keys on Thursday! Its in Race Blue which wiill be a lovely change from the L&K. Keep watching the youtube video of the guy taking a a near identical one down the autobahn at night! It's been a tortuous couple of weeks and has stressed me out something rotten but thankfully it's come good at the end!
  15. Not posted for ages but thought you might be interested to know that I've agreed today to part ex my ĺ&k 280 hatchback. Coming up to 3 years old but less than 13k on clock. Velvet red with cream leather, clean both inside and out. Dealers adamant there are no new l&k's out there but I'm chuffed cos I snagged literally the only brand new sportline 280 in the UK. Comes with loads of expensive options and I got a great deal. Black interior so will be a real change from the old l&k, so excited!
