  1. Did anyone try to change from 5Q0 to 3Q0? Friend has faulty 5Q0 unit in Superb MY2018 and I was thinking about telling him to buy 3Q0 instead of 5Q0, that we could change it to massage seat
  2. Hello, I was searching through the forum and found out, that to enable traffic jam assist (TJA) function you need "only" to flash correct dataset. I also found out, that you need to have Lane Assist (3Q0), ACC radar (5Q0 or 3Q0? I think, that we need 3Q0, right?) and have automatic transmissions (which is stated in manual of Superb). Can anyone answer me my questions, which are: Do I really need 3Q0 ACC radar for TJA? I have 5Q0 radar (pre-FL) and 3Q0 A5 camera (FL). I needed to set in A5, that I don't have ACC radar and in ACC, that I don't have camera and in ACC remove two CAN cables, which are only to communicate between ACC and A5 camera. I did this, because it looks like, that 5Q0 ACC radar and 3Q0 A5 camera is not compatible, but maybe I am wrong. Before the removing of CAN cables I was not able to get it working both (ACC and A5 camera). I have only three small issues with this: I can set ACC only up to 160 km/h, in virtual cockpit I can't see properly the animation of car in front of me and with speed below 25 km/h ACC disable itself with message "Use brake pedal". Beside of that, it is working correctly. Do I need ABS compatible with ACC follow-to-stop for TJA? Currently I have ABS only compatible with ACC for manual transmission (without follow-to-stop function). Did anyone see pre-FL Octavia with 3Q0 ACC radar? I am asking, because I was thinking about changing the radar to 3Q0. What everything I need to know before changing ABS module to correct one - with support of Follow-to-Stop function? I mean like - do I really need "only" to change the module itself and that is? Is there any additional cables needed? How can I get it to work after the change? I read somewhere, that I need to do something like "filling the pipes" via diagnostic. I have Octavia 1.6 TDI DSG MY16 with a lots of retroffiting towards FL version. Thanks for any help!
  3. I tried to give to the 5Q0 controller data container/parametrisation for massage seat and it didn't work. It just set the coding for "lumbar massage" to active, which I did before. There could also be needed change in other unit, but I don't think so.
  4. I was able to try the buttons, but it looks like, that the buttons works exactly the same way. The third button is not "3" but with the massage symbol and it still work like third button "3". In conclusion the buttons not depend on the function of the (lumbar) massage. It is needed to change the unit from 5Q0 to 3Q0, after this, it should be only coding. I think, that every Superb 3 FL (maybe pre-FL also, not sure) has the 3Q0 unit. I will try to look around for the unit, but the price is relatively high. I will keep you updated in case, that I get the correct unit.
  5. I bought the correct buttons (I think) for seat memory with massage button and I will give it a try maybe next week. It is not too easy to switch the buttons. The seat must be taken out in order to change the buttons Btw, price was around 12€, quite cheap and part number is 3V0 959 769. I'll let you know when I try it.
  6. I think, that it is related to the buttons. I would say, that the button works in similarly way like buttons in MFSW. The buttons are sending specific request for third position, instead of on/off massage.
  7. I can answer you the question too, because I did a lot of retrofits on my car too and last weekend I use the last free position in my fusebox Unfortunately I don't have exact photo of the fusebox. And about the glove compartment, I needed to remove it a lot of times and it still OK.
  8. Hi guys, Tried to search through the forum, didn't find anything "useful". I found out, that there should be an option for VW cars to retrofit garage door opener in cars and I was thinking, that this should be somehow possible to Octavia too. Did anyone try to retrofit this or know anything more about it? I know, that in Octavia is possible to active in infotainment unit "UGDO" function and you can see in then under "Opening and closing" options under the "Car" options. I have an old photo, sorry, it is in Czech
  9. I wanted to add massage function to my Octavia and I found out, that if you have seat unit starting with "3Q0" and correct buttons (I think), you can have massage function. Also now for Octavia IV the seat unit starting with "5WA" and it also support massage function as far as I know. It is all just theory based on a few cars with massage buttons.
  10. You can try to use this page: http://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/en-gb You need to write there VIN of your car, it will show you. By the way, you can also download map update there. There is also an option, that your unit should have update (not only bluetooth part), but firmware update of whole infotainment is not shown on the page, which I mentioned.
  11. Before changing the gateway from 5Q0 to 3Q0 I was asking SashaGrace about her version of gateway and software index. Based on that information I downgraded to her version, which was L and I knew, that there was possibility of "burning" the unit with downgraded "too much" at once That is why I downgraded to AA first and afterwards to L
  12. Yes, I downgraded my gateway from AC to AA and finally to L
  13. Oh, so sorry for this mystification. I believed, that only from HW5xx the drive mode is resetting. In the light of that information, I can confirm, that with HW442 (software index L version 4326) is drive mode not automatically set to normal.
  14. And do you know, how to enable Skoda Connect? Because the activation cannot be done in the car (of course, you can see the icon, but can't register it), but somewhere else. You can't do this, like I wrote, right?
  15. The reset of drive mode is with all gateway version HW 5xx. The resetting is new feature, because of emission tests. The newest gateway without resetting of drive mode is HW442 with software index AC, version 4388 (for Octavia).
  16. You can't unlock Skoda Connect function, because your car (VIN) is not in database, which means, that your car can't communicate (can't be registered) with Skoda Connect server. As far as I know, there is not possibility to add new VIN to the database. About performance gauges - if the car had the performance gauges before, you should have it now too with SWaP/FeC restoration (it can be done the same way like component protection removal) In other way, I think, that dealer can't activate this SWaP/FeC code for performance gauges.
  17. I was thinking, that somehow, like people are using VCP to enable video in motion, that maybe there is an option to do something like that with buttons. As far as I know, there is only option to reconfigure the chip in right buttons, but I have no idea how.
  18. Hello guys, does anyone have experiences with coding of steering wheel buttons? We bought the new steering wheel from Octavia IV and there is no ESC/CANCEL button like was on MK3 steering wheel, which means, that we are not able to change from TELEPHONE, AUDIO, etc.. in instruments and if the car has virtual cockpit, there is no option to change the view, because there is no VIEW button. I know, that standard coding via VCDS, ODIS is not possible. The communication from the buttons to the car is via LIN, which means, that I "just" need to send different LIN signal with the press of the button. Does anyone know, how to change the button function? My friend can create a unit for me, to translate the LIN from button to whatever button I want. Example: Press Travel Assist button - UNIT translated the button function - car will see VIEW button was pressed. This option is more complicated, that's why I wanted to ask, if there is any other option. Thanks!
  19. Yeah, that's strange. There is not any coding available in BCM, only in climatronic and gateway (sub-module of MFSW) and while the heating is working via test function, I don't know, where the problem could be. I was thinking, that the problem could be in gateway or BCM, that it won't get the power to the steering wheel, because it is not normal feature. I had this retrofitted to my Octavia pre-FL, which should also not support this function and it is working.
  20. Hello guys, Did anyone try to add heated steering wheel in Fabia III? We have Fabia MY2019 and bought the new heated steering wheel from Octavia IV with button for Heated Steering wheel. We did the wiring (same for Octavia III), change the steering column for Octavia III with heated steering wheel support and everything "works". I did the coding for heated steering wheel in climatronic 08 (I was surprised, that the option is there) and in adaptations of gateway - unit in steering wheel, that there is button for "heated steering wheel". I can see, that if I press the button for heated steering wheel, it is set to "ON", but no current is going to the heated part. My friend tried it with ODIS and via test function the heated steering wheel is working (warms up as it should).
  21. So, I asked my friend and he told me, that you can't be sure on 100%, but he never had problem with this. I have to say, that I did SW downgrade and upgrade of gateway too and without any problem. You can try it, but still be prepared for possible complication.
  22. Oh, sorry for this. As far as I know, there should be no problem with anything from what you have mentioned. If you want to be 100% sure, I can ask my friend next week. I think that he knows this for sure.
  23. You just need to stick with HW version 436 and you are safe to flash the SW. I am not sure. I always do parametrising when changing units. If the gateway was in Octavia before, it should be OK without doing parametrisation. 100% sure, that this is needed. Everytime you put "new" unit to your car, you need to do component protection removal. In gateway is SWaP codes for drive mode selection, cruise control (not ACC) and fatigue recognition assistant (not aware of any other SWaP code). If you have anything from this (at least you have drive mode selection), you need to do restoration of SWaP codes.
  24. Can't confirm that on 100%. Next week I am going to do this retrofit by myself (already have "correct" gateway, but I need to change BCM to FL BCM, because my BCM not supports personalization and ambient lighting). Regarding the flashing.. I am sorry, I did a mistake. SW version (like 4326, 4328 and so on) is not important for situation what can I flash on certain gateway. The import is the three letter version of HW (like 5xx and 4xx). This means, that HW version above 5xx have the problem with resetting drive mode selection to NORMAL. I tried on my car version 521 (which has the problems I described earlier) and now I have version 442 without any problems. On Monday, I am going to add the FL BCM and I can test for you, if the ambient lighting should work how you described this. So, how you can find out, which SW can go to certain gateway: You need to follow the HW version (example 442). You can flash on this gateway "every" SW for HW 442, but still with the possibility of "burning" the unit. You need to do it in small steps. I will try to investigate it more the next week (maybe on Monday)
  25. I would just add, that gateway with HW version 5xxx has new feature, which is annoying for most people - every new start the car will switch to NORMAL driving mode. I personally have gateway 3Q0 907 530 C with SW 3Q0 907 530 L (HW 4326) based on Sasha's information. As far as I know, any gateway (MQB High) with HW 4xxx is suitable for you with all features functioning. I tested 3Q0 907 530 C, but HW 5421 and I had a problem with drive mode switching to NORMAL and also I got a problem in virtual cockpit about missing StartStopReason communication (something new, that units in Octavia can't handle I think). Also wanted to point out, that flashing 3Q0 gateways is "dangerous". If you want to go higher or lower with SW index, you need to have the correct SW based on your HW number (example 4326). For example, if you need to go from SW index AC to L, you need to flash it several times to go lower with "smaller steps". I did this with my gateway. From SW AC to AA and then to L. Once I tried to go directly from AC to L and the gateway "burned". Maybe faulty unit, but I was talking to my friend and this happened sometimes Sometimes the gateway just need correct ZDC file (this is nothing from my experience, only by hearsay)
