MySkoda App.
Had a notification that the 'Essentials' app is being discontinued in July, and the 'Skoda Connect' portal also now warns it is being discontinued. Is there any way to view the non-averaged driving data in the 'My Skoda' app which seems to be what they are pushing now? I want to continue to be able to view MPG/Travel Time/Distance etc for individual journeys rather than a daily average, which seems to be the 'most granular' option the new app offers.

Replace brake discs at the same time as pads?
Thanks, I thought so. This isn't even a main dealer so I was hoping they'd at least be honest! I'll start asking around for a new garage for next year's service...

Superb started making hooting/whine noise
An update - so far the car has been back to the garage twice. They can't reliably replicate the issue and neither can I, although it sometimes happens often there is no consistency which is the issue. I've driven almost two weeks with no noise, and then had another week where it was happening frequently. My best working theory so far after another month and a half of driving is that the air filter installed during the service is either slightly misfitting or faulty in some way, and is acting like a 'reed' as air is sucked through it into the turbo. The large tubing on the way to the turbo might be amplifying the noise originating in the filter. Is this theory at least vaguely plausible or is it completely unlikely? I've got a bunch of other recordings, I'll try and find some of the best examples and post them this weekend.

Replace brake discs at the same time as pads?
Thanks all for the useful observations, apologies for the delay getting back to everyone but I had to procure some tools to be able to take the wheels off and measure the pads in order to make my own checks. The rear discs do appear to be about 25% worn, a rough measurement suggests 0.5mm wear on each side and the maximum appears to be 2mm each side (original thickness 14mm, minimum thickness 10mm). However, I was disappointed to find the rear pads look to have 6mm left: The front pads have roughly the same: I measured the front discs and they are original thickness 25mm, minimum 22mm, and wear is about 0.75-1mm each side, so about 60-70% thickness remaining, however I have no idea if the garage is correct in their assertion the front discs need to be replaced due to corrosion or not: I'm probably going to take the car asap for it's MOT which is due in four weeks to a local independent MOT Test only place and see whether they fail the discs, I don't personally think the pads need doing at this stage.

Superb started making hooting/whine noise
My Superb III was serviced last week, including Air Con service and DSG Oil Change. Mileage is 35k. Since the service I've driven 200 miles and this weird hooting/whine noise that I have never heard before has happened on three occasions. My theory is it may be gearbox related as it is occurring when slowing down/accelerating, and it's too much of a coincidence that it's right after DSG work. Fortuitously I've captured the noise on my Dashcam (which I thought had audio recording turned off but actually it didn't). Can anyone have a listen to the links below and weigh in with any thoughts on what the noise is and should I be concerned about it? https://youtu.be/PvBkttTAZFs?t=7 https://youtu.be/sTtVLMPcMGY?t=5 https://youtu.be/oCbrP7szNJQ?t=5 Edit: even if it's not something I should be concerned about can anyone tell me what needs to be done to get it to stop, as it's irritating and the car didn't used to do it!

Replace brake discs at the same time as pads?
Discs. Although now I'm questioning whether it was 75% worn, or 75% left as I remember being slightly confused at the time by the initial number and the garage's clarification. Disc surface looks fine on the outside face, although the edge of the disc looks a bit corroded. Going to pop one front and one rear wheel off tomorrow to examine properly and also take my own measurements of pads/discs because I'm not sure the discs should be "75% worn out" already either. Maybe I'm also a bit unsure because something is intermittently making a strange whine since my service last week, which I think is the DSG as it had its first oil change. But I'll make a separate post about that when I get the audio recordings of the whine off my dash-cam.

Replace brake discs at the same time as pads?
Not wanting to have to buy another set of pads prematurely I have asked my garage to offer an alternative quote for rear discs as well as pads, so if it's not much more I think I'll just do the discs anyway.

Replace brake discs at the same time as pads?
Hello all, My local independent garage has advised I need new brake pads all round (not surprised as they have done 35k and I sometimes drive enthusiastically) and front discs only due to corrosion, but that rear discs are ok for now although 75% worn. If I do the pads and front discs will I have to do the rear pads again when I do the rear discs even if the pads are only half worn by that point? Would it be better to just do the lot now? Thanks in advance.

Online Map Update
I updated my South England maps to the 2021 release in late June, just before the online update service went phut, which I discovered when I went to update North England in early July.

Online Map Update
I have done a partial reset of the navigation part, I’m reluctant to do a full reset unless Skoda CS tells me I need to because that’s a lot of settings and customisation to redo.

Online Map Update
You can’t even get that far, the infotainment system hangs at the point you hit the ‘Retrieve’ button (37s in that video). edit: I assume the hang is down to a backend network problem, at least that is what Skoda is telling me.

Online Map Update
I don't really know why you're defending Skoda here, yeah there are two official processes to get map updates installed, but for those of us PAYING Skoda to use the other process that hasn't been working (apparently for 3 months now) it's frustrating to not be getting the service we are paying for.

Online Map Update
I have been getting the runaround from Skoda UK about online map updates (part of the Skoda Connect subscription), the latest from them is that at the moment ‘Online Map Update is temporarily not available’, can anyone confirm that they’ve been able to use the online update system (through the menu on the infotainment) recently to update maps? Has anyone else tried it and had issues? My car is a MY18 Superb with Columbus, although I would expect it’s the same system for all Skoda’s that support online map update.
