  1. Well, it's started working again but it is going to be replaced when I start work again next week ( been off since November), service is due and tax and insurance is due at the end of May so the wiper motor is way down the list at the moment.
  2. After I thought i'd fixed mine , it lasted about three days before it stuck again so off with the motor again cleaned it up and it only lasted half a sweep of the screen. I'm going to get one off e bay, I did this for my mk2 vrs and that one was still working when I sold the car two years later. At least I know how to change it.
  3. The only grease I had to hand was copper slip, maybe not the best thing to use but it works. A friend of mine is a retired fitter but still does a couple of days at Wards in the Boro, he suggested petroleum jelly, aka, Vaseline, apparently all grease has water in it and breaks down eventually whereas Vaseline doesn't. If it moved, I greased it, the spindle was well seized but soon had it loosened with WD40, I also greased the worm gear. If you see me out and about in town, give me a blast on the horn,
  4. Mine was doing this then it eventually stopped working. I removed it and took off the plastic cover to find it full of rust and gunge. I cleaned it all up with WD40, freed the seized parts, regreased it and fitted it back on the car, works an absolute treat, took about an hour. There are vids on you tube on how to remove the motor and if I can do it then anyone can
  5. I was checking the sound settings and came across this, Canton surround isn't highlighted and can't press it. I'm not a tech geek, but what does it do? and will it make any difference to the sound, Thanks in advance.
  6. Good call NZ, also fit quality batteries, Duracell or Energizer not the pound shop crap.
  7. Thank you from me also, I should be able to manage that. I take it that £19 is for one seal.
  8. Can you tell me where you get these seals from and what sort of price are they? Thanks in advance.
  9. Looks like it Varoom, it's not doing all the time, just on startup, I can put up with that until I can get it sorted.
  10. Happy New Year everyone. Still got the same problem after the update so i'm going to have to learn to live with it because i've got a couple of things to get sorted on the car first ie, wheel refurb and get the nearside of the car resprayed after some kind person decided to key both doors, had a quote of £400 for that plus £260 for the wheels.
  11. Updated, massive thanks to Varoom for all your help, 👍
  12. Thanks for posting the video Andy, even a thicko like me could manage that.
  13. Thanks for your reply varoom, i've just spotted the other thread on this problem, so it's not just mine. It does it for the first 200/300 yards then it works fine. I'll have to try an update.
  14. It started a few weeks ago, left work at 4am, it was cold and damp and the radio started changing channels and other settings without me actually touching the screen. In about 4 weeks it has done this but only when it's cold and damp. Has anyone else had this problem or got a solution to it? Thanks in advance.
