  1. Are you saying that currently you are sometimes getting Traffic alerts and that the TMC signal is sometimes active or was that before March 2023? I am in Cheshire and there is nothing and I have been down to Kent over a long weekend and still nothing.
  2. Thisi document on Ofcom is worth a read I have added a link and attached the document. https://www.ofcom.org.uk/__search/s/redirect?collection=global&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ofcom.org.uk%2F__data%2Fassets%2Fpdf_file%2F0027%2F226971%2Fstatement-additional-services-licence.pdf&index_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ofcom.org.uk%2F__data%2Fassets%2Fpdf_file%2F0027%2F226971%2Fstatement-additional-services-licence.pdf&auth=OqnXOfo5dqusplhCrtrrMQ&profile=_default&rank=7&query=rds statement-additional-services-licence.pdf
  3. I have already contacted the Skoda Digital team, sent them details like the Vin and photos of the TMC screen and am waiting for a reply. I guess the more that complain the better.
  4. Tmc

It may not be Trafficmaster but INRIX (ITIS) , there are two separate traffic alert services in the UK.
  5. Tmc

This is a countrywide problem, I have raised it with Skoda and have been contacted by Skoda support, search on BriSkoda for the other threads for more information.
  6. I already have been in contact with Autocar and they got back to me today, they have raised it with Skoda PR and have asked if Skoda Customer Services can get in touch with me - no problem. I did explain it was far bigger than just a problem with my car.
  7. In that case that is why I thought it was INRIX ITIS all along and was surprised when Trafficmaster was mentioned.
  8. INRIX https://inrix.com/press-releases/inrix-completes-acquisition-european-traffic-company/ “The acquisition takes us one step closer to our goal of reducing the world’s traffic congestion by providing better information globally,” said Bryan Mistele, president and CEO of INRIX. “As one company fueled by a talented staff and an unrivaled set of patented breakthrough technologies, we offer customers the best quality real-time, predictive and historical traffic information and services worldwide.” This statement seems at odds with what has happened.
  9. Skoda Support for Digital Services have contacted me and asked for a photo of the Traffic screen with the TMC fault and the VIN number. This was after I emailed the Skoda Support Team email address I posted earlier. It might emphasise the problem if others contacted them, I have given them links to these threads.
  10. I have had the following response from Skoda customer services: I'm sorry to learn the TMC traffic services have stopped working. Due to the nature of your enquiry, I would advise you to contact Škoda Support Team as they are best placed to assist with connect enquiries. You can contact them on the following details: Telephone: 00800 80 247 247 Email address: *****@*****.tld that is support @ skoda-auto . com take out the blanks Probably worth everybody contacting them. I have also emailed BBC Watchdog about it, it has worked in the past with a non car issue.
  11. My MIB2 unit supports DAB and that is what I use, somewhere I read that the device uses a second tuner and always picks up the FM transmission for TMC even if you are on DAB.
  12. This all sounds like when the BBC decided to turn off the BBC Red button text service because they thought no one used it. Public outcry has kept it in place. Of course if you ask a sales person in Currys they tell you it was switched off in 2012 and none of their TV support it. My wife wouldn't be without it on our modern LG TV!
  13. Maybe we should be checking a few other forums...... This does feel like the service has simply been turned off. March would fit in with when I think it disappeared on my car. Think of all the traffic jams that will be caused and extra pollution because your satnav can't re-route you. My stop start doesn't seem to work now either so I would just be contributing to the smog.
  14. If that is true then there are literally millions of cars that have lost the service! Skoda should be the first to know not the last.
  15. We seem to have two threads going and I posted this on the other one. Some interesting reading though a bit old: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/190078/Traffic_and_Travel_Report_1_.pdf Sounds like FM and DAB could take the service from different sources. If you pay for Smartlink on a 2017 Amundsen MIB2 device does it support Android Auto or Carplay? if it does maybe Skoda should offer Smartlink free to compensate? Just a thought.......
  16. Some interesting reading though a bit old: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/190078/Traffic_and_Travel_Report_1_.pdf If you pay for Smartlink on a Amundsen MIB2 device does it support Android Auto or Carplay?
  17. I have just emailed my Skoda main dealer who services the car. I have described the problem and asked if they had heard of it, has anybody else reported it and have they checked their secondhand sales stock for the problem. I also asked is there a solution or was it turned off during the March annual service. I didn't want to ring them as I have a hearing problem. I will update if I get a response. I don't want to leave my car with them as I suspect I will get an hours diagnosis charge for nothing.
  18. I got a Facebook message from Skoda telling me to take the car to a dealer to be diagnosed! When I pointed out there are dozens of owners in the country with the problem and that it was obvious that some dealers already know as their stock is showing the same fault - they still want me to take it to a dealer....... Getting nowhere. We need a big stick!
  19. My Rapid's TMC made it to 6 years but appeared to coincidentally dissappear after its 6 year service but I didn't notice it for a month till I did a long journey. I contacted the dealers and they claimed to know nothing .........
  20. I have emailed Skoda Customer Services twice and tweeted them once about this without a response. It is confusing to have reports of traffic messages working when using connected services which I agree uses a completely different service. I can confirm that I have not subscribed to Skoda Smartlink a service that I always thought should be free - but that is a different issue.
  21. My colleague has confirmed that their 2016 VW Golf with satnav has the same problem with TMC.
  22. According to wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traffic_message_channel United Kingdom[edit] The INRIX[67] provides a commercial TMC service, iTMC in the United Kingdom. It is broadcast nationally on Classic FM and other commercial radio stations. The BBC Charter prohibits it from carrying a commercial service. ITIS provides traffic data on RDS-TMC to major automotive companies (BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, Ford, Renault, Jaguar Land Rover and others). The price of the service is included in the price of the car or navigation system. Not sure if this gets us any further, searching for INRIX and iTMC ITIS don't seem helpful.
  23. Maybe now is the time to talk to the motoring press as it is country wide problem?
  24. I have messaged Skoda about this via the contact info on their web site. I wonder if it would be worth trying the on-line chat service, I doubt if they would have an answer but it might let the company know there is an issue.
  25. Yes I have just posted on another thread where the same thing is happening, I have been in the NW and Worcestershire in the last week - still not working. I wondered if it was a local FM transmitter issue but I suspect not. It would be nice to find out that Skoda have forgotten to pay the licence fees and it will be sorted.
