Kodiaq Owners Register
Exchanged the Tdi RS for a Tsi RS last June. Was offered a sweet deal . Did miss the low down grunt ,sheer pulling power & fuel efficiency of the Tdi. But the Tsi has grown on. Feels more agile and playful. Definitely more quicker beyond 100 km/hr. For those interested, here is a video of the Rs Tsi on the Nurburgring.

New ‘Edition’ 2.0 TSI DSG 4x4
40 mpg Quite good for the TSi vRS. Did you stick to the French speed limit or less? St.Bernard will definitely take a toll on the mpg. How many miles since new? Moved to from a TDi vRs to Tsi one....The in town mpg is abysmal, highways are just abt ok, nothing compared to the Tdi. Just done over 2800 kms now, hoping for it to get better.

Speed Camera POI in 2022 Kodiaq
What a shame. The only thing left to try i guess now is to put the poi files on a usb and follow the instructions as attached to update the navigation as a whole. Map-updates-mib3.pdf

Speed Camera POI in 2022 Kodiaq
So far from what I gather, Skoda has removed all the hardware for SD cards in the new gen (> MY21) kodiaqs. But does it provide the Retrieve "My POIs" (online) option?. Found in the Manage Memory of the Navigation settings? If yes, question is where can you upload your POI files. I found the below text in a 2019 Fabia Manual. But dont see this option in the Skoda Connect. Retrieve "My POIs" (online)- Online import/update of your own POI categories created in the user profile on the ŠKODA Connect Portal website

Speed Camera POI in 2022 Kodiaq
This is terrible news . Along with the loss of side assist, this just keeps adding to what Skoda are removing. my only hope now is that Android auto works wirelessly and depend on waze camera alerts.

Kodiaq VRS
Here's the difference of the Diesel in my experience although I have not yet test driven the TSI. The TDI will move really fast without you noticing it . Rarely does it rev beyond 3500 rpm in normal mode, so you dont realise the speed until you look at the speedo. In sport mode too, the gear box upshifts at 4k , so no sport car feel, but still going fast and you feel cocooned. The sound generator in my opinion feels good too. If you switch it off, the other passengers too do not realise the speeds you are doing. This is a real boon too. SO no calls for going slow . I do regular trips to the mountains, and after learning the way the car behaves, it is such good fun. Overtaking is what feels so good, as well as others wondering does something so big go like that in the curves. The gear box is lethargic in normal mode and in the city, if you want to make a quick dash, you wait a sec which feels like eternity after flooring it. When it gets moving it moves. As you said, to get it moving is the hard part. In normal, you can put the gearbox is sport by pulling it down, gives quicker downshifts and everything else stays "normal". Now look forward to the TSi, and hope it can be as much fun. Not used to revving hard, will have to re-orient my driving style.

Kodiaq VRS
The TDI Diesel had it as standard. Been told that it has been omitted since last year due to semi-conductor shortage. I guess because of this the rear-cross alert is also history. These are essential in such a big car. Same for the Canton system, not available. As a plus point(s) - 3 zone climate control, electric passenger seat are standard. But will miss the storage compartment under the passenger seat.

just saw your post on blindspot in the other thread.

Kodiaq VRS
Hello bigmeg, does your configuration include blind spot monitoring as standard? 11 weeks looks quite fast. Here in Swiss, the order was placed in November, and delivery is expected in May and blind spot monitoring is missing due to chip shortage🤦

Disappointed in off road performance
Been having this weird noise at slow speed manoeuvring and full steering lock. But the noise is present only after I have driven in wet conditions. When doing the same in dry, there is no noise. Additionally, on kick-down in the wet recently, it was as if no power was transmitted to any of the wheels. I see the engine revving , and then juddering with some weird sounds as though the transmission suddenly decoupled itself. The Haldex oil was changed at the last service , but not sure if the pump filter was cleaned. 🙄

Heated screen performance?
That looks brutal

What do I replace my Skodiaq with
Could'nt agree more. Difficult to find another 7 sear model that ticks all the boxes and has a sane price as the Kodiaq. Probably Kia Sorento ? In my case, extremely pleased with my 2020 TDI vRS. But my lease is coming to an end in Nov23. The dealer gave a cracking offer on the new TSi vRs (exchange) wherein I pay lesser than my current monthly lease but includes all wear&tear, service and warranty. Hence put in my money on it went for it from a purely financial/maintenance point of view . Skoda here wants to push new cars and gives good offers on them but terrible offers to extend the lease. The value of the 2nd hand vRS Tdi also seems to be up given the times , so will also try selling on the open market.

If you consider yourself an expert on this subject, you can ofcourse ignore the articles and stick to your beliefs. I posted them for the benefit of those who might be open-minded and feel like exploring the subject more.

Tyre Replacement Options
Looks like the Pirellis seem to last the longest on the Diesel VRS ? @Cozzie Bhoy, is your vrs the diesel version? 3 mm at 22500 kms, quite poor. Have winter Pirelli set on 18 inch wheels, they are down to 5mm at 16K kms. Could be down to the extra weight and driving style I guess ? Well, I am moderate to aggressive and the mrs. is quite sedate. Will try my luck out with another brand other than Conti next summer. Question - does low tread impact only wet handling and wet braking? Would they be fine in the dry?

Wireless android auto
Hello, I know its been a year, but how did you do the update? Directly from the System Info screen? When did you take delivery of your car? I had given in my car for an insurance claim and was given the latest Kamiq as a replacement, connected my phone via bluetooth and immediately AA connected wirelessly too. Too convenient. I really hope its just a matter of update to get the wireless AA working.

Which tyres did you go in for the replacement?

Very impressive mileage from everyone reporting here. Checked the alignment recently and it was reported as normal not needing any correction. So can't pin down any reason other than driving style I guess..

Tyre Replacement Options
My 2019 Kodiaq RS came with Continental Sport Contact 5 on 20 inch wheels. While the performance of these tyres is good, the wear is quite high. At 20,000 kms, they are almost down to 3mm . That's a lot of wear in my opinion. On reading around, the Sport Contacts are meant to be high performance tyres but universally have a poorer wear score compared to a Premium/Eco contact tyres. My use is abt 60% town and 40% motorway with the rare track day in between. What has been your experience with OEM tyres and what did you change to? Cheers.

Things you wish you’d ordered with your Kodiaq!
Wow a lot of std. equipment missing due to chip shortages . That's unfortunate. I regret not adding Isofix on the front seat and 3rd zone climate control options. Although I don't get to use it much, the sleep pack is a hit with my kid - window blinds , blankets & cool headrests. The things she shows off to her friends about .
-
Front pad wear expectations?
Thanks for the inputs. I was surprised by the visual inspection results. 28K kilometres seems rather low but the sensor is yet to illuminate so I can only hope the result was wrong. I am neither a sedate driver nor a very aggressive one. I estimate around 70% of journeys to be city, the rest are rural and on the autoroute. my previous car too was a similar driving profile and it went 75K kilometres without brake pad changes.

Front pad wear expectations?
Hello Fellow RS Owners, wanted to check with you how many kilometres you got from the factory-fitted brake pads ( front) . Mine has done 28K and had an independent visual inspection - he reckons the sensor could go up soon.

Updating Map f/ware
Hello All, I finally updated my Navigation system successfully. Thanks to all the helpful posts above. Here are all the steps I did that worked for me, Download the map update from https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/en-US/Updates after keying your VIN no. I got a zip file of 26GB. Took a 32GB SD card and formatted it to exFat(right click on the drive in your computer > Format > exFat) . It was in FAT32 by default, and the files would not copy. It would error out saying not enough space. Unzip the zip file in step1 and copy the contents into the SD card. I initially copied the zip file, and the Columbus gave me an error when searching for updates. Put in the SD card into one of the available slots. Choose Navigation > Settings > Version > Update ( SD Card /USB) option. The system finds the files and starts updating. The complete update took abt 40 mins, the duration of my commute . All my personal POIs also still in place.
