  1. I've tried recentering allright and also going back to factory settings on Octavia, still no joy. The annoying thing is that it works perfectly on another car. Been keeping the phone in the same place I always had and it's always worked before. Anyone know if there's been recent software updates? Car is 2016
  2. Recently my maps has packed it in, will come on and let you put in directions etc but the GPS locks where you've started the car and won't move along with your journey, so no idea where you are so it's worthless. Installed waze which is a bit better, but find it very confusing and according to a friend it's not working like it should. Figured it was a phone/maps/android auto issue and played with the settings to no joy and very frustratingly it all works perfectly on my other car... A bloody Hyundai. Only thing I can think of is that my Skoda doesn't have it's own independent gps, but the Hyundai does, so I wonder does the phone work off the cars gps rather than the phones when struggling but that sounds very sophisticated... Any suggestions before I just try resetting the cars infotainment system because can't think of anything else to try
  3. I used a website called Ledperf. And got and got led side lights which I'm very happy with, always bothered me that my model, 2016 vrs had all led lights bar the side light. Not sure if meant to share links etc. here but I'll pm you
  4. Thought I'd look for a little bit of appreciation for my second vrs I've had since October. Hatchback Diesel, my first one, financially written off in a crash was the estate and had the 19" extrem alloys that I miss a lot but also really like the 18s when the light hits them just right. My second has a lot of features the first didn't, a pan roof, canton sound and subwoofer, full leather with grey trim and heated seats I didn't have before. Haven't don't much messing with the car other than a vrs rug in the boot, a dog guard that might interest some people and I've added the honeycomb centre caps and nut covers pictured that I like but amn't too happy with the how the quality has lasted either.
  5. I bought the Halo Road angel very happy with it, no screen and I love how tidy it fits in front of the mirror it looks very sleek. No gps though and no rear camera on mine but some models are available with rear I think. Download incidents via WiFi connection with mobile phone. I also bought a USB extension cord to run the connection neatly under the driver's seat and out again under the passenger seat, I wouldn't be one for hardwiring it into the battery unfortunately
  6. Thanks folks, based on the answers I've had here I've decided to hold off untill I get a better coolant, bar some absolute emergency! Had a look at the bottle there since it seems to be such an unusual coolant, it says it's made with mono-ethylene glycol and doesn't list any of the VAG cars at the bottom with other brands. It's also harmful of swallowed.
  7. It's the Mannol Green G13 pictured that I got. Just went to my local independent motorfactors, The man in the shop said it wouldn't matter 🙈
  8. Hi, apologies of this is in the wrong place or already answered elsewhere. My 2016 Octavia VRS has red/pink engine coolant in it and has just gone below the minimum line. The manual was useless as to what type etc to put in. The coolant tub in the engine says G13 on it so I got G13 coolant. However this is green. I don't have a mechanical bone in my body but a lot of people say not to mix two colours, some seem to think it doesn't matter. So my question is has anyone topped up their coolant with a different colour and was there any issues? And what should I do put in this coolant or see if I can find a red coloured G13 type. Cheers
  9. Actually I had a dog guard for both, the estate one did rattle at all, but the hatch one does a small bit, it hasn't got as many different supports on it as the estate did. So all and all of dogs are going to be a big part of your driving estate is better
  10. I had an estate vrs for two months, it was written off and while I'd prefer the estates there was only a hatch available in my price range. I have a big Dog, lurcher, and she doesn't seem to notice the difference at all. Doesn't have a side window to look out now is all. Can obviously fit that bit more in the estate but the hatch is more than enough in my opinion. The canton subwoofer does take up a good bit of space where you might throw cleaning / emergency equipment otherwise.
  11. Cheers, it is what it is, car did it's job very well and kept me and family safe when it happened anyway, and insurance company paid out basically full cost of car.
  12. Hi all, Just introducing myself to hopefully speed up the full membership status. Currently waiting to pick up what will be my 3rd Skoda. My first car was a 2011 Fabia, bloody great car, started to fall out of love with it recently so upgraded to an Octavia Vrs Combi (pictured) loved it, but only had it for about 2 months and it was unfortunately written off in a crash. Having not yet fallen out of love with the vrs, I'm buying another one, a hatchback this time, fingers crossed I'll have a bit more luck in this one!
  13. Congratulations on your new RS, lovely colour, currently waiting for a cheque to clear to finalise payment on my second RS, after one I just purchased was written off! 😭 An excellent car, hope you love it
