  1. A few little finesses that made me happy... 2017 Greenline Combi (160k - 2nd keeper) Moonstone with black wheels and badges: ▪︎LED rear indicators ▪︎Dynamic LED mirror indicators (nasty job) ▪︎6k white reversing LEDs ▪︎LED white rear plate lights ▪︎LED white interior tail lights ▪︎set of official Superb mats
  2. Thanks so much for sharing, really interesting. My OEM Xenons remain more than adequate but the vid has confirmed I should stick with OEM bulbs if I need to swap. I still prefer the old school option of replacing the front grill with mesh and adding a bank of additional lights behind it for real bright coverage LOL
  3. If you ever wondered what happened to the (you can't get thicker than a) KwikFitFitter ... they were put into a selective breeding program in the late 1980s, and now after two generations we have 'alferdz techs, and if they seem to show any aptitude they get given a customer facing role to erode any happiness ... "I can't sell you this because it doesn't appear on my stock screen" - "but I can see it, you're actually holding it" - "but the computer says no". I watched one, once, putting a push-bike together out of the packaging - they only had to loosen and twist a few things to straighten it up - but it got written off as "damaged in transit" by a supportive manager when the customer refused to accept it 😞
  4. Thanks for this ... I remember snorting with laughter when Neo was offered a blue pill. Jim Paints It also had a great take on the Red/Blue decision...
  5. Would the tree be such a loss? This time of year is perfect for some subtle intervention... Check out this natural problem that can be duplicated: https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/types/trees/ring-barking
  6. Sorry late to the convo. I loved my Š4x4s but not the additional fuel costs. This yime aroind I opted for a high mileage Greenline 1600 (yes, but money was tight) - 1 owner (M-way commuter dealership rep so all servicing was on time). I got lucky I guess، anyway now kissing 150k miles at 5.5 years old. Big costs = •Estate tail lifters (£215 /pair new from China - less than 30mins self fit with no'previous') • Fit a full set of CrossClimates and wet weather roundabout handling now approaches the 4x4s in Eco mode. • 1st cambelt change at 145k ... water pump fine so left in saving £30 - my spannerman informs the servicekit items are only lasting 15-18months 😞 • next issue to address is a low voltage report on ign-heater ... circa £100 apparently ... will need a fix before the summer ends.
  7. My Combi lost the ability to lift the tailgate just a day before the MOT (it sailed through). My mechanic was quoted just shy of £600 for a pair of powered lifters, or £130 for manual ones. I sourced a new pair from ebay for £215 (I offered vs £230) they arrived inside a week (FOC delivery via Evri and arrived on time) Fitting took me just under half an hour, armed with a tiny screwdriver, and a blunt chisel to pry the plastics. Hopefully that's another few years of service 🌞
  8. Ah yes the triple bench is a large old unit. I'm guessing a roofrack with straps and a fullface helmet for the eldest would get you some kind of Social Worker investigation?
  9. My sis-in-law uses one of those triple benches in preference to buying a people carrier. Deffo worth checking out. I think the buckle to buckle width is too small, the overhang from the big seats will be like sharing with a couple of Rugby Props.
  10. Sorry to read this has happened. You're not the first, my old S-III hatch suffered the same. I used to keep the sunshade retracted as I preferred driving with the roof 'cracked' for ventilation vs aircon, but reaching up one day to close it, the damn thing jumped off its rails. Luckily mine was just in warranty but the dealership took over a week to fix it as some fiddly little screw or clip had vanished. Good luck.
  11. Imminent new tyres, so decided to have the horrible Greenline rims sprayed. BTW ... I keep them on because they consistently deliver a 3mpg improvement on my (necessarily long) journeys.
  12. I was deeply impressed with their service AND product. Don't forget the line-up pins are sacrificial, and collapse inside the badges as you push firmly home.
  13. Love the all black grill ...hmmm
  14. Hey Martin, check my earlier pix, I had a shiny bumper topper already fitted when I got my car. Opted for black to give the monochrome look. Some others here have opted for a clear sticker, which I'd certainly consider if the bumper on mine wasn't already scored.
  15. How have they worn, and what quality did you opt for? I always seem to cut through any heel pad unless it's metal, which looks rubbish unless you're in a trackday motor
  16. Yes. Quality is 100% far better than any others I've seen. It's a remade OEM part, and the paint matches exactly too. I listed my shopping list from them in an earlier reply ^

  18. 1. I sourced this high mileage 67plate Greenline 2. It had a horrible shiny bumper guard, chins on the number plates and the factory standard lettering & badges (the emergency triangle was mine already) NB Greenlines always ship with a spare wheel kit (that needs to be gone ASAP as the foam insert suits my usage better) 4. Replaced the bumper protector with a black plastic one, and fitted nicer looking (legal) plates 5. Judicious hairdryer treatment, leverage from a sacrificial wooden spatula and subsequent 100% alcohol clean up removed all the badges 6. Far nicer Monte Carlo style letters installed, I kept the 2017 Greenline badge as it was the black edition already - that GB is a mag sticker BTW 7. The new (chinless) number plates are an improvement, and the bonnet emblem completes the look
  19. I'm lost for an adjective to describe what I think of this mod
  20. My Superb 3 is moon white with a code of LS9R-2Y2Y ... seems you need the codes from both sides of the line when ordering
  21. If it's available to post I'll do the paypal thing 😉 ..please DM me
  22. I am still looking for one of those giant inserts ...anybody got one they need to 'lose' London way?
  23. Hey Bod20 fancy a straight swap? My latest Superb 3 Estate has a spare wheel and i really want the foam insert instead. I used to have a 5door with the foam, loved it for wine storage on camping trips. Anyway- drop me a DM please and let's talk swapsies. My Spare is new and never used, comes with all the inserts and the retainer obviously. Yes I've been stranded when the sidewall was torn asunder by a ditch pretending to be a wet bit of tarmac ... couldn't get a tow as that car was 4x4 ... anyway i balance my choice of storage vs spare ... for a euro trip I'd simply load a spacesaver (wrapped) in the non-insulated area of the boot
