Rear Skoda logo debadge
My 2006 pre-fl has holes BUT as I was swapping off the original damaged green badge I discovered it was a foil over a black plastic blank. It'd be worth a breakers yard explore or buy an oem badge to strip back and prep if you wanted a 'button'. Personally I'm all for personalising your ride, but to remove, fill and paint badge depressions seems a lot of hassle.

Headlight washer Jet replacement
I'd certainly consider dropping of the front bumper, if only to gain access with your fingers. One of mine had lost its' outside plate and was being hit with all the road-muck. I'd sourced a new "front plate" but hadn't gotten around to fitting it, when the car ended up in a bush avoiding a (drunk?) driver losing control in a narrow lane... so my bumper needed a 'reseat' to get the line back (far better than the chromed steel nudgers I grew up with) I love the way modern stuff absorbs those slow speed impacts. Anyway, once the bumper was dropped off, working on the headlight washer was a breeze 🙂

Kenwood dnx521DAB
Hey Paul. IF you want CD / DVD compatability you'll pay more. I did ... I went for an Android 10 head unit from Amazon ... it supports CANBUS alerts / steering wheel controls / rear view camera and DAB (extra module) . Preloaded with the Torque app for the OBDport ... I use a USB as my prefacelift Octy2 has too small a dash hole for the wifi unit I already had. Went to Ebay for a surround (perfect fit) from China inside 7days. Head Unit... . https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07H5L7WVF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share . DAB unit... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07NRNP9VC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share . Pre FL Octy 2 - additional front light mounts
Had to slip off the front bumper on my Combi (not VRS) and noticed there are additional lighting mounts behind the little service panels you remove to work on the front fogs. Sorry if it's come up before - I can't find any mention though. Has anybody else here ever seen/modded with these locations? It looks like they might accept the VW Corrado Mk1 fogs ... wiring isn't an issue, I just would like to know if I'm treading a path already made ... these are the bunnies > https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/en/halogennebelscheinwerfer-bab655.html - once we're out of lockdown I'll have a trawl of the scrappies and get measuring. Cheers

Led high beams and led day time lights confusion
I don't like the LED conversions and fear the illegal aspect, so I've always gone for aftermarket replacement bulbs. Osram Nightbreakers on Amazon are currently under £16 a pair ... I've used them for years. I use Philips sidelight bulbs to colour match - there is a post i put up back around Jan/Feb time listing some links there Try this link, but remember to select the correct models(s) the dipped and full beam bulbs will be different, easliy googled on a car spares site quoting your reg / model + year > https://www.amazon.co.uk/generation-brightness-headlamp-64210NL-HCB-passenger/dp/B07FXH9352/ref=asc_df_B07FXRDJV7/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=310764720204&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4319726003812413288&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006668&hvtargid=pla-592557309357&th=1

Key Remote Windows
Mine is an 06 old mk2 Has a rain sensor and does the VAG keyfob open an close thing. But, it doesn't do that overnight close thing. I have those wind deflectors so leave all the windows cracked most of the time (dropped by the fob). Carista let me set the 10mph anti-jack doorlock which was something I missed from my Superb 3. What I don't miss is the remote boot opening by the fob good for a 40ft range.

Octavia Mk2 Workshop Manual free download
When I copied the coloured post it didn't work for me either, and just wante the d-key. I thought it was me. I dropped the link posted into a document as text only to strip off any hidden formatting and then copy & pasted to my browser and it was fine. Hence my repost of just the key on its own. Certainly worth a try 😉

OBD COM scanner for Skoda
2006 Octy 2 was fine with a Carista ... gave some excellent additional features that I like - antijack door lock at +10mph etc ... I thought somebody had one for sale on the classifieds in here over the weekend ?

Stereo wiring
deep in that thread was a reply this May .... "Hardware solution trumps everything Had the same issue. Im also waiting for the supplier to respond. In the meantime, I just pulled the acc pin off the box and connected the radio to cig. lighter possitive. Works." So it looks like inspite of the Canbus you can drive it from the ACC input ...B9 on your unit by the looks. My cig lighter stays on all the time - so I'd be looking at using a vampire fuse and running a connection off the panel by the drivers door from an ignition switched supply - same as when patching in day runners

Stereo wiring
I've something similar waiting to be installed. Mine has instructions that mention your issue... there is a single cable you have to disconnect in the event of failure to power down. Sorry I'm too far from the house but will have a dig tomorrow and see if I can post a pic ... IF the cabling is the same you could be laughing. Certainly worth some searches online for that unit from other sellers ... to see if they publish the 'destructions'.

CCZA engine spec??
Getting time outs :( Does this exist anywhere else please? I love an exploded diagram too ...and I have the 2.0FSI engine in my Octy2 Combi

Need a model name.
Yes I've just got back on my proper PC and checked - as langers2k said NEXUS ... but the used prices are horrifying 😮 "The Nexus navigation system based on the DX platform with the dynamic module (TMC) enables you to receive traffic reporting and adapt your route to up-to-date information. Of course you can also use it to play CDs and connect a CD changer. (AAN 600 002)" "6-CD changer designed to be installed in the luggage compartment (AAP 600 001) Connecting cable for installation of a CD changer (AZO 000 002)" Octavia_Accessories_1206.pdf

Happy to agree I know the quoted number is an MFD2, every time I tried to copy the listing details it auto filled as a Columbus - so I surrendered. I remember there was a nav-unit called Columbus, but I thought it was written on the front like the Stream etc. Thanks for the correction. Just found a Columbus listing as 1Z0035680A BTW @Thej does it have to be Skoda original? I've gone for an Android 10.0 swap out unit ... depending on the functionality you're after you can spend as little as £80 - mine was twice that as I wanted DVD/CD and the ability to run the Waze nav-app.

MFD2 aka Columbus . Searched Ebay cross referenced then looked to share link. That also quoted Columbus. . If you'd sooner have a Stream I am about to extract one from my 06 Octy II

Fitting reverse camera
Exactly my planned route, cabling along the passenger side roof join and down the a-pillar, and across behind the glove-box into an android unit (to avoid my dashcam power feed out of the fuses and up the other a-pillar) - Please do post piccies. Mines a combi, but I'm guessing tailgate movement could cause a headache with cable flexing breaks ... I plan to fit a connector at the end of the run along the main body - will most likely use a sat-tv screw together union ... and hide that inside the gaitor with the other factory stuff.

Just browsing HowManyLeft
http://howmanyleft.co.uk I hadn't been on this site for years, I used to track the 'survival' of well loved old cars - anyway, as I was awake at stupid c'clock I thought I'd idle some time away and turned up the stats for my current ride. If I'd known how rare they were before I started looking to buy one, I would probably have given up. My 4x4 FSI Combi is one of only 53 made in 2006. The stats are interesting to me anyway:

Thanks to a fellow member here, sourced some 16" rims, at least they should fill the arches - still sitting far too high.

Problem with passenger side electric window
Have you trawled this thread ? There is mention of removing and cleaning the fuses as well as a strip + clean of the switch circuit board. Good Luck 🤞
