  1. Activated the rear traffic alert and then tried creeping up on a car and it worked? Disabled the rear traffic alert and it still worked. So must have just been the fact it hadn't encountered any of those scenarios. Not seeing many use cases for it. Wish it operated the same as the driver side one. Wonder if it can be coded for both to operate the same!
  2. But to have had none in a 300 Mile drive. Either that is not correct, or the passenger side is a useless gimmick! Will need to try some of these scenarios to confirm
  3. That's why I don't think it works properly. I would expect it to do those things. Mine had done nothing.... So far
  4. In that case. I'm convinced it's definitely not working. It would have activated during my journey, going by the scenarios on here when it should work. Rear traffic monitor is currently off, so will activate that on my drive to work this afternoon, see if it makes a difference
  5. That's very helpful, and will try that tomorrow. I have an obdeleven so can do a scan also. I'm sure I have rear traffic alert off. Wonder if that could be part of the issue! Will turn it on anyway
  6. So in theory. If I creep up on a car and overtake it very slowly, this should trigger it! Which I'm sure I did a few times yesterday too try it. So will try it again tomorrow
  7. I was specifically looking out for them the whole journey from Wigan to Glasgow. Not once they came on. That's why I don't think they are working correctly. If they are, they are useless. To clarify, the passenger side never came on once. Driver side, flawless
  8. They both flash when starting engine. So seems all good. Just seems pretty pointless on the passenger side then if they are working properly
  9. I will try once I finish work
  10. That sounds plausible. However, I have definitely over taken many cars yesterday while travelling about 5 mph faster. How slow do I have to be going?
  11. Thanks I will try that. Update- neither of them flash. The indicator lights on the wing mirrors both flash, but neither of the blinds spot flash! I know the driver one works fine, despite it not flashing when locking the doors
  12. I would buy the pair. As it's difficult to determine which is faulty. You could buy the pair, and switch them over one at a time and find out which side is faulty, and keep the working one as a spare
  13. Just upgraded my superb to a sportline 280, which has blind Spot monitoring. But I'm not sure it's working properly. I collected the car yesterday and drove 300 miles home with it. The blind Spot monitoring on the drivers side was working perfectly, and I don't think the passenger side came on once. So not sure if this is an issue, or this is a setting issue. Or is just normal, and that is how it works!
  14. I had the same issue. Seems to be a common issue. Needsreplacement hydraulic rams. They are about £130 a pair on eBay, and take about 10 mins tops to switch over
  15. Car is in limp mode and I'm pretty sure it's the turbo actuator that is done. Can't seem to find any UK stock of the part number I can see on the actuator. Anybody know where I would get one of these. Car is 20tdi 190
  16. That's more helpful with what you never implied. So we now have a trained technician above contracting this. And quite a few sites that I seen during my research. Suppose that is the issue with looking on the internet for advise, you never know what I nonsense and what isn't. My issue is sorted and I have no further need for the info. So I'm out
  17. I'm not really concerned either way to be honest. All I know is it's sorted. The fact of the matter remains that wheel alignment can effect ADAS. As was my research. It may have absolutely nothing to do with the reason why mine was needing recalibrate. No way anybody can tell. The fact that you implied it wasn't even possible was interesting. I'm still waiting on that link to that info. So that anybody with a similar issue in future may come across this thread and can then decide the best course of action.
  18. Thanks for that. That is what I read when I looked into it. Was worried when the comment above suggested it was nonsense. Good to have some input from someone who is actually working with this system. Hopefully the info will save someone making the same mistake I did.
  19. And that is exactly what I thought. Until I googled ADAS wheel alignment. And they are correct
  20. the ADAS system needed recalibrated. A few weeks before mine developed a fault, i was getting a tyre fitted in national tyres and they were doing an offer on wheel alignment at the time. Due to type of wear on my tyre, i decided to get this done. Was only an extra £20. Apparently a car with an ADAS system cannot have this done without having the ADAS recalibrated at the same time. The garage said that National Tyres should not have taken on this work without the proper equipment.
  21. It is not a failure at all. Spoke to the test centre about it. Fixed now anyway
  22. Yes. Got it recalibrated for £150.
  23. No luck with that, but thanks for the suggestion
